Game Thread: Wyoming @ Indiana State

I was told by some here that it's a Tournament or bust season. I'll stand by those sentiments until the experts who forecast another season of dancing tell me otherwise. I expect the Tournament. I don't want it, I'm not hoping for it, I've been told that this team has Tournament potential despite all its transition and youth...and dammit I want that Tournament. Or else. Now let's get real: CBI...if we're lucky.

You bring passive aggressive to a new level! And while I don't think anyone is saying tourney or bust, this team is built to get hot at the right time and make a run. Again, we hit 45% from three again and this is a whole different game.

And it's not weird to expect greatness every year. Maybe we should expect to suck like football. It's worked great for them
Just ignore the trolls.

Well i see a lot of talent on the perimeter but having no low post presence isn't going to magically get better this year because we don't have anyone down low. No one to get the ball to inside when you need a basket like Nance or a dunk by Cooke and no shot blockers really. James looks like he can shot block and rebound but he needs to be playing the 2 or 3 spot. He isn't a power forward.

This will hurt us all year.

Also the fact Shyatt hasn't played Marshall since he is the best player on the team besides Adams is shocking but I guess if you can't grasp Shyatt's defense you won't play even if you can help the team.

Why not play the best offensive players and run and gun like McLain used to? If we're not going to be an imposing defensive team we better be able to score....

You know I love you brother, but this team is sooooo lacking in maturity and seasoning that anyone who can't see this is a huge transitional year has been swallowing way too much brown and gold kool aid. No, I don't expect greatness for this year's hoops team any more so than I expected it for Bohl's football team.

They weren't even great last year, in fact, they were pretty mediocre for much of the season and then overachieved in the MWC tournament.

I love my Pokes, but I'm also an objective realist too.

Well I do expect greatness. I get that they're young and immature. But the other night showed that this team, when hitting shots, can score a ton. We will have a 50/50 in every game this year depending on which team shows up. That's the reality this year.

They played a cupcake for crying out loud!

I like you Dino. I'm not gonna keep beating this team down. You said it. They're young. They've got some growing up to do. But I guarantee Shyatt and Adams expect more than this performance.

I'm far from beating them down B...but life on the line would you bet it that this team is a MWC contender? This team?

I like how Dino only shows up when things are looking bad for the Pokes basketball team.

Not at all, I'm just trying to sound somewhat realistic. This is a young, talent-potential, high-ceiling, basketball team, that will get beat on the boards most nights, and will get better as the season moves along.

However, I'm not going to delude myself into thinking that San Diego State and UNLV should be shaking in their boots. They were picked 8th in the pre season poll for a reason. Because they're not that good - yet.
