Why did the whole team look like they had given up after the first play? Are their internal issues? Has CDC lost the locker room? Do the kids not want to play for him? This is the third game I have noticed and difference in attitude of the players
Almost every player I've ever talked to think that DC is a tool. It's a big part of how I formed my opinion of him. They won't say it to a reporter, but will do in a private setting.
Can you elaborate?
Obviously, without mentioning names or positions, as to not put them in his dog house, I've been told he:
Threatens to pull scholarships over every little thing that pisses him off.
Tells you that you have a fair shot for playing time, but doesn't give you the opportunity in practice to do so.
Different rules, different players (ie-two players, same infraction, one gets suspended, the other gets a talking to).
Lets his mood dictate how he treats the team in practice (ie-after the Equipment Manager refused to hire his son, the team suffered in practice, getting verbally abused, extra work-outs etc.).
Likes to publically humiliate the players in front of the other players and coaches.
Will support a fellow coach over a player every time, without hearing the player out.
Plays the blame game (ie-we would have won had xxx not blown his coverage, dropped the pass, etc.) in front of the other players.
Basically all the typical stuff you see in a bad high school sports movie. He basically bullies them just as he does with the Press and indirectly the fans.
You only have to approach the players and talk to them. There's about a hundred of them running around town at any given time. If it's a big group, they won't say much, but alone or with a couple team friends, they'll give you an earfull.
