290 rush yards for the sheep....Unbelievable.
 
Its not all Tormey. Agreed they were in soft coverage, but our pass rush sucks (as always ) and nobody can tackle. We need better defensive recruits, with a little attitude. To many soft ass defenders.

You think DC should take no blame for the defense??? Our defense has sucked every year DC has been here and was only halfway decent in the first few years because of Glenn's recruits.

DC recruits offense only and it shows. Our D-line gets manhandled. Our linebackers are slow and can't tackle. Our defensive backs play soft and are not overly athletic.

We traded defense for offense from Glenn to DC. As a football team, we are no better than we were under Glenn (and potentially worse).

Firing Tormey and bringing in a new D-coordinator does what?? We don't have the players.
 
DC should have pulled the trigger on him at the end of 2012, and then aimed the gun at himself. It won't get any better the rest of this year either. SJSU hung 600+ total yards on the sheep in Ft. Collins. Can you imagine what is going to happen on Saturday (it's homecoming for SJSU)?

Agree completely. We need to recruit defensive guys. With more depth. Our outside backers suck but we have no talent to come in and push them for a starting spot.
 
What a difference 1 game makes.
Before today, the Pokes were in the drivers seat for the MWC title game, now, it's looking like if you throw out a varsity high school line, you can beat the Pokes.
How did Nebraska not beat us by 30?
How did we beat AFA by 33?

The D is a joke. The offense can't do shit against a blitz. The O-Line got TORN up. Brett can only do so much. Brett is still great, but good god he needs more than 2 seconds to make a play. And the few times the O-Line does work, the WRs can't get open.

Anyways...the D. That's what this is about...

I seem to recall most all of you on here singing praise about bringing in Yarborough, Mertens, Olive? Now they're soft and we waste recruits on offense. Im not catching your common sense. Does Tormey suck? Absolutely. Mid season firing? Not so much. Who do you replace him with? And then you want to throw in the fowl half way through the year and go from a bad D to a horrid D...

Nebraska got surprised by a team that came ready to play while looking to UCLA......Air Force sucks! I thought you said the landscape of college football was all about the offense and the Pokes were in a great position with theirs......today 3 and out, 3 and out, 4 and out......that was our. first three possessions...along with a non-existent defense, our offense is too inconsistent......receivers that drop easy passes, ineffective running game when you need it and a lack of legitimate coaching....what adjustments were made today.....what adjustments were made against Texas State? We have yet to beat a legit college football team this year.....take a look at the real landscape of college football and you find that Wyoming and CDC have fallen way behind! Wyoming had a pretty good D coordinator, who is now coaching at CSU because he was run off by CDC!
 
I'm just as pissed, but somehow manage common sense. I'm not going to lower and debase myself and start trashing players and coaches.

College football is all about offense now. Look at even the SEC games. Look at Pac12 teams. Big12. Hell even Big10 teams are putting up insane amounts of points.

Yes. I know I am. I'm also in a state of shock. I think last week raised a lot of warning flags in my eyes. We are up 21-0 and our d lets NM back in the game with just atrocious run d. I know we fumbled a punt, but a good or even decent d might force a field goal. We just let them waltz in.

Bottom line, we have to get the lead and force the other team to throw. We get behind like today and the other team feels no need to throw. Our pass rush is non existant.

Frankly, Smith's pocket was collapsing the second he got the snap today. No receivers get separation. I think the poor offensive line play surprised me the most. A really good crowd today. I've never waited so long to get through the gate.
I really don't think we are a very good team. We beat an awful Air force team and I'm pretty sure NM is terrible. Idaho and Northern Colorado are not really barometers of anything.
 
There are no shut down/dominant defenses now in college football. Hell even a Nick Saban defense got lit up by A&M. However, you do need a defense that can actually make a stop sometimes. Which this Wyoming defense has shown us it can't. I agree we need some changes on the coaching staff and just the players we recruit in general...

We've certainly seen our share of college football offense the past four games, close to 300 points.
 
That d coordinator held Wyoming to 15 points unless you want to include the garbage TD....and that is the same 15 points that our top of the landscape offense put up.....I am being realistic....we have not beaten a legit team this year....remember Ghalli Muhammad and how CDC took him off of English's defense to try him at rb......it was that type of "put the best talent on the offensive side" that led us to where we are today.....English did a good job with the amount of talent CDC let him have on the D......today was a demonstration of what the "nay Sayers" have been cautioning all along!

One player moved. And it was Muhammad who requested to change positions. Marty straight up sucked. All of us faulted DC in the beginning because we kept him on and not only that, we promoted him to d coord.

His d looked pretty good today and a heck of a lot better than ours! They were prepared and ready to play!
