Pathetic.
Hey Beav,
Didn't your OSU Beavers lose to Sacramento St in 2011 and Eastern Washington in 2013?
Kind of being a little harsh don't you think? And that was years after Mike Riley had his system in place. This is game one of year two...
Yep and I was one of the most excited when Nebraska took him away from us.
Losing to an FCS school is unacceptable and in my opinion is a fire-able offense.
Not only is this ridiculous, but it's a statement that reeks of both immaturity and a complete lack of understanding of the way that the world works - and the way high-level football works.
This isn't 11-12 year old kids in a neighborhood at the end of the street deciding to change the captain of the youth-street baseball team who plays a few other neighborhood teams each day during the summertime and who changes their minds daily on a whim or because 'Jimmy' is more popular this day than 'Billy'.
So, Tom Burman is supposed to walk into Craig Bohl's office today and after one season and one game say; 'well, sorry Craig, but that loss Saturday has made me re-think my entire decision to bring you here. I'm making a change, you're fired, see you later."
This is the world of Division 1 CFB, run by adults, who have a bit more long-term thinking, who are confident in their plans, who understand the 'process', who don't cave, walk away, give up, and concede total failure after one disappointing football game.
Someone mentioned on another thread that it strikes him that many of the postings after the ND loss appears to be coming from 5 year old's. I disagree. As the father of one 5 year old I can say that mine has a sense of understanding and reason to a degree. I find some of these postings, theories, and those calling for an outright firing of a head coach with the pedigree of Craig Bohl to simply be, in a word; Witless.
You think Burman or anyone in our athletic department understand the process of building a winner in football?
