If he is doing the same workout as the rest of the team that is BAD. A kickers workout needs to be quick calisthenic movements. Such as shuffles, sprints, weight sled, elastic bands, kicking in a pool. Pure weight lifting will actually make a kicking motion slower. It's all about building leg speed with quick movements.laxwyo said:Kick coverage was poor, I actually think his kickoffs are getting better. One was intentionally kicked high and short, but he's getting it to the endzone when he tries. Now he just needs to get it through the endzone. In his interview, he says that he does the same workout in the gym as the rest of the team. Shouldn't he be doing something else to help him add distance? Not sure if it's like baseball where if you work out too much, you can mess up your mechanics.

The TCU kick returners were getting 45 yards every time, so maybe DC told him to kick short and get the ball into someone else's hands. It still wound up at the 45 though.
