"There were only a few options,” Harsin said of Wyoming’s offense in overtime. “We made the right call and the guys stepped up.”

Harsin says for the critical plays at end of regulation and overtime:"There were only a few options,” Harsin said of Wyoming’s offense in overtime. “We made the right call and the guys stepped up.”
Haven't we heard our playbook is super complicated of supposedly over 200 plays that takes a qb at least 2 seasons to learn? It doesn't matter if we have 50 different possible blocking screens for a run up the middle play. On the defensive side the coach knows it is going up the middle, stack the box with 10 guys and you stop them. "Only a few options" because defense doesn't care if the blocking scheme changes each time, we are so predictable they know where the ball is going and we are easy to scheme against on defense

To be undefeated, we needed 3 stops with a late 4th quarter lead and could not get it either time, especially when our offense came through to get the lead. How can our defense shut the door on games? Can they get better or will our fans just ignore it and be ok with a solid game with no finish.
This makes no sense. In all three games the offense didn't get it done multiple times in the 4th qtr, either. The D is holding teams to few points and the offense should score more damn points. You sound like coach Bohl protecting his BFF forever VigenBrown and Gold said:Our defense also gets soft in the clutch. Offense is the issue.
Asmodeanreborn said:I don't understand those who say "the defense didn't get a stop when it mattered," because they stopped most drives, including the very last one in regulation to keep it tied, AND they held Boise to just a field goal in OT. If your opponent scores on the 10th try to tie the game up when you didn't score yourself on any of your attempts, it's never the defense "who didn't get a stop when it mattered," it was just the inevitable end result of not creating enough scoring drives and giving your opponent too many opportunities to score themselves.
Nobody would blame a goalie who gave up a goal in a 1-0 game after you've allowed 50 shots. You'd talk about why you allowed 50 shots instead.
