I am really going to miss that "WAR DADDY" horseshit.

I know the players seemed to really like and respect him so that sucks but I always hated the WAR DADDY UP stuff.

WyoNation article on Zach Duval's departure:

Never met him, but he seemed like a guy people liked. But let's face it, he wasn't delivering the goods any more than the rest of the staff. It's not like we were all saying "we have the biggest, fastest, strongest team, but we aren't winning". Sort of like the Joe Glenn of the weight room. UCF has the largest student enrollment in the country, one of the newer stadiums and plays in the sunshine. We'll always have trouble competing against them when recruiting players or coaches. Having said that, he was able to find a team to join that's worse than us that under performed at a very high level. On top of the cash, it's nothing but upside. All they need do next year to improve upon this past season is beat those Golden Panthers from Florida International!

You guys bashing UCF seem to forget 2 years ago they won a BCS Bowl and put a QB into the first round of the draft.
Since the 2010 season, they have won 9 games every year except for two times, and have posted 3 double-digit winning seasons.
They have won 3 bowl games, including wins over Georgia and Baylor, and have won 3 conference championships as well, and lost out on a 4th in an overtime. (also lost out on a 4th 10-wins season due to OT loss)
They are 16 games over .500 in conference play since then as well.
Along with 17 active NFL players.

Wyoming, since 2010, 1 winning season, 5 losing seasons. Have yet to win double-digit games, have yet to win 9 games.
1 bowl game, and lost.
0 conference championships.
15 games under .500 in conference play.
7 active NFL players, and when Floyd officially retires, 6 active.

UCF had a terrible season last year, but it was a complete fluke. As a program, they are far ahead of where we are.

Why wouldn't Duval make this move?

If you disagree with him I'd love to hear it. At least he got rid of the brown and gold goggles and can finally see clearly.

We have high school players in Michigan that dwarf our offensive and defensive starters. Not to mention the lack of size in our linebacking corp. I will say I appreciated Duval's attitude and ability to assimilate kids into the program. He was always on Bohl's side like a hunting dog on the sidelines. This year is make it or break it on a lot of levels for Bohl and Burman, the only question is what is this new President going to do if the shit hits the fan with a 3-4 win season, and our BBall program heading for a sub .500 year? Be very interesting to see. I will agree with Ragtime we need to bring some bacon and find some quality assistants, and start with some coordinators who know what the hell they are attempting to do. Next to quality recruits it begins with quality coaches, at every position.

Duval fit everything Wyoming is. I have met him on several occasions. He was fully invested in the state, the kids, his job. This is why when things like this happen it makes me scratch my head. Are we really not paying as much as UCF?

Of all the coaches on staff, Duval was a Wyoming kind of a guy.

I have heard, but am too lazy to look up, that UCF has twice the jing UW has to pay assistants....yes, double the amount. So that is good news..............

We should have a high level D1 team any day now...................

I love stats as much as the next guy, probably moreso, so thanks for the background on UFC. However, I don't see any posts from anyone bashing UCF. The posts seem to be leaning more towards "we can't compete with UCF" than bashing them.
