DU game tonight

Trying to get more discussion over here. Football season is over but Basketball is just starting. Lets move over here everyone. Sick of being depressed talking about football.

This is going to be a tough game. We haven't won in Denver since 2001. Looks like the Pioneers are playing well and we haven't played well on the road yet. Seems like a perfect time to learn how to win on the road. Would be a huge win and gain a lot of momentum for the team (and the fans) coming into this weekend's game against Cal.

Anyone down in Denver going to the game?

Go Pokes Beat DU!

Anyone know of an online stream? I know its televised on root, but I cut the cord and still live in the root RM region so I may be out of luck...

Wins against teams like this are what we're gonna have to do to start climbing the ladder again. I don't expect us to win these games just yet with this young team but I hope we can keep it tight. Seems like nobody is familiar with USATODAY's Sagarin rating system. While that is just a garbage ass paper I really have liked this rating system for college hoops just because is lists everyone and we often find ourselves more in that unknown rated region. Sagarin has DU rated 160 right now. Getting into that top 150 team range in the country should be our first goal and I think we have enough talent to do it. A win tonight would be a big step in the right direction and could give us hope heading into the Cal game.

Plus this a greenie team     Please get these greenies...I can't believe we've already been beat by a greenie team at home :? It's too early for that shit! Is DU a rivalry at this point? I mean we play these bastards every year and they are always a tough nut to crack. They are pretty much AF part 2....but man I hate AF :deadhorse1:

Still non-weight bearing and in a cast.

Better snag one of these and get to the game...

And by that I mean the scooter, not her...

That ginger has bigger guns than me.

She needs those, to throw you down the stairs. Nothing better than a woman with a little aggression in her.

I bet the curtains match the drapes as well.

I believe you mean "carpet matches the drapes." Curtains and drapes are the same thing.

You are absolutely correct. I got so excited thinking about it I...I...I...eeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhh blew it.

DU has a really good coach and has been a really good series w wyo for a while. People always laugh when I put DU on conference expansion topics, but I just want to see basketball only teams added and wyomings spot to always be a good one. I picture Denver as a good add to wyo, csu, Air Force. Nice little quadrant (that Wyoming should always be the best of).

Du is really good at some other sports, and has the right sized and funded school, plus the location and potential fans in the area.

Going to the game tonight. Excited to see these Pokes live for the first time!

Based on DU's roster and a few box scores, after 3 SRs this team is a little young also. Problem is those 3 SRs (6-0, 6-3, 6-7) play a lot of minutes. But the other big minutes go to three FR (guards 6-3, 6-5 & a 6-7 forward) and a SO (guard 6-3). Based on the minutes... this team plays small ball. (Has anyone actually seen them play this year?...besides highlights)

Given their lack of size, it'll be interesting to see how we decided to attack. JJ should be a tough match-up... especially if Herndon takes their bigs outside to open up the lane. Are we going to try and go through Barnes and Naughton more? Either way, with their lack of size in general (minus the 6-6/270 and 6-10/250 centers who don't play much at all), we should be able to attack the basket more and not settle for the 3.

Go Pokes!

Does DU run a Princeton-style offense? Kinda like AF?

Yeah they run the princeton. Think they run it a little faster than AF but essentially the same thing. Watch the back-door.

Sounds like we are gonna press them a bit to slow them down so we won't have to play half-court defense as long each trip down the court.

Would be a great win and I am not expecting to win but I'm gonna be pissed while I watch it if we don't.

Now that's some funny stuff right there.

It's funny but true. We're gonna have a shot to win tonight, and I'm going to be pissed if we don't. Having said that, I'm not expecting our young team to win on the road yet. I just know we can. There's no way DU blows us out tonight.

All I know is we better take it to the rim tonight. I f we shoot 4-24 on threes and bet blown out I will be pissed.

Denver seems to be good at getting the ball inside via a screen and cut. Lots of assists and rapid ball movement. The new guys may just not be up to defending this.
