Did you watch the Craig Bohl presser?

I mean, how fast have you fallen in love with this guy?

How quickly did you get the feeling that Craig Bohl was the ONLY guy for this job?

How damn fired up are you for the future of Wyoming Cowboys Football?

Haven't you already felt the culture shift in a radical fashion?

Is Wyoming Football in good hands - or what?

Then again, I told you all these things about Craig Bohl 2-3 months ago.

Dave who?

Today in Laramie was the dawning of a new day.

Wyoming Football matters again.

Someone get me a helmet, put up a brick wall, and watch me run right through it for Craig Bohl.

A great day to be a Wyoming Cowboy today, eh?

Now...about my season tickets.

Next year they'll go from 2 to 4.

Way to go Tom Burman.

Thank you sir for getting the only guy who can make it happen round these parts.

You refused to settle - the state thanks you for it.

Geeze Dino, you're scaring me. I agreed with you again. :o

If you can't get excited from the presser alone and his excitement then gtfo pretty much all that can be said.

And then I got flack bring told that I must be related to DC... I'm almost wondering if your a relative for how gitty you're acting...

I did not go to the presser because today is my wife's birthday, but like all of us who were not there, I was certainly there in spirit for sure.

To the Virginian?

Once you get to know me I'm impossible not to love!

I am so thrilled for all of us, and even more enthused for those who have been Cowboys fans and connected to our great state for far longer than myself -- this was a red-letter day -- and a day that hopefully we'll be able to look back on and say that on December 8, 2013...it was the day when the worm turned for good and we never looked back.

As I was watching the presser I was not only thinking about long time fans of the team, boosters and supporters, but I was also thinking about so many of the people who have been close to the program for years on end and who have never really gotten to enjoy a period of legitimate sustained success.

Some of these people I speak about you saw in that video, folks like Tim Harkins and Kevin McKinney, our great broadcast voice, Dave Walsh, our long time uniform and equipment guru (not in the video) Mad Dog...and there are many-many others.

Frustration has boiled over time and time again this season (and last)...but on this day, nothing but optimism and enthusiasm fill the air at The War.

Lets do this.

Lets do it BIG.

What time does spring practice begin?

Good Christ he hasn't even recruited a player yet let along coached a game here. Feel a radical culture shift already? Hyperbole much?

His command and presence in the building today...that alone has started to change the well worn culture of sub-mediocrity.

Christ died on a cross paying the penalty of the wages of sin for you and I...and that ain't no hyperbole.

Please hesitate from blaspheming in future posts concerning the King Of Kings.

Thank you.

Merry CHRISTmas.

Pfffffffft.

Let me just say up front that I think Bohl is a good get for UW. And he probably was the right man for the job.

But all that same crap in your OP was the same crap EVERYONE said about Glenn. And then about Christensen.

"We're all fired up."
"Wyoming football is in good hands."
"We're going to be relevant again."
"There's already a culture shift in the locker room."

Let's just remember that Bohl hasn't coached a game at UW yet, hasn't recruited a single player, and many of the same issues that Glenn and DC faced are STILL present in Laramie (funding, transfer rules, etc.)

This ship is by no means righted just because we have a new captain. It's a big step in the right direction, but we've still got some fixing to do.

GO POKES!!

Certainly had to be one of the top 3 available candidates. I don't quite share your enthusiasm, however. That would be the same regardless of who we hire. We have non-head coach underlying issues here that also have to be corrected. Hopefully Burman fighting to keep his job will light a fire under his arse.

We've tried the smash mouth thing in the past; remember thunder and lightning? Until someone proves otherwise, we haven't been able to get linemen in here to do the job. I know NDSU beats a FBS opponent once every year or two, but we need to beat 11-12 of them every year. I know it isn't a popular view, but 1 game doesn't make a squad or conference. Look how much Utah and TCU struggle outside of the MWC when they have to play big teams week in and week out.

Decent hire on paper, but I don't know of any lower level FBS football program that is able to run people over consistently. Even our best defenses in the Glenn years were suspect when facing superior speed. We've been lacking speed and linemen for a long time on the high plains; I'm not sure that we were drastically devoid of toughness.

^this. Boise state had their success from running gimmick plays and trickery not from running a smash mouth offense. This is my concern about moving away from the spread. I don't know that we can recruit the level of talent we need to run a pro style offense. The spread negated the talent gap when run correctly. Although we could get lineman to run that either.....

You need better athletes to run the spread than you do to run the power game. Bohl does not run a power game he runs a west coast passing offense with a power running game. They are a very balanced offense and nothing like Glenn. It is easier to run power with less talent because a lot of it is a mindset and being tougher than the opponent and wanting to beat them.
