Dear Wyoming Students,
I wanted to thank you all for the outstanding job you did during our season-opening win over Southern Utah. The support you showed us makes a huge difference to our team. We love to see you arrive early, it gives everyone on the team an emotional lift and our defense thrives when you loud and rowdy.
Our entire team also wants to thank everyone for the support they provided us during a very difficult time this past week with the death of Ruben Narcisse. You can’t imagine what it has meant to receive all the e-mails, calls and letters from students, faculty, staff and fans. Thank you so much for reaching out to our “football family”. This Saturday, we will continue to honor Ruben. Junior captain Brian Hendricks will be wearing Ruben’s #12 jersey during the game, and 5,000 gold T-shirts with will be given out in the east stands with Ruben’s #12 and the words “Ruben Narcisse Always A Cowboy” featured on the shirts. These shirts will also be available for purchase to the general public at Tailgate Park.
We ask that you come early this Saturday and cheer us on against Boise State. Help make “The War” one of the best environments in college football, and the toughest place for opponents to play in the country! The athletic ticket office is advising students to arrive early as the game is expected to sellout and space in the student section will be limited. Students will not be required to pick up a ticket early has they did for Texas last year. Student guest tickets will be sold at the discounted price of $22 until Wednesday, September 15 at 5:00 pm at which time any tickets that remain will go on sale at full price to the general public.
Finally, I would like to encourage every student to become a member of The Stampede, the official student fan club of Wyoming Athletics and Cowboy Football. The Stampede truly elevates the excitement and involvement of students at our games. For more information on The Stampede and the benefits of being a member, please log on to their website at uwstampede.com or sign up inside gate 3 at our game on Saturday.
