D Lineman....

CSU has 10 Florida commitments, 5 from Texas and only 2 from Colorado. Interesting, they have more commitments from Orlando FL than all of Colorado. Not sure what to make of it.

I like the looks of DCs second class, pretty good coverage in all areas as he said he would, maybe a little heavy on the DLine but that is expected, and I can't wait to see who steps up next season. I think they have done a good job of addressing need at WR and adding playmakers at RB. I am excited to see what the German linebacker will do, his numbers make him sound like a beast (240 lbs, 4.57) but I am curious about his instincts and experience - he is intriguing to me. Overall I think it is a good class with a couple more spots to fill.

That seems kind of backwards to me. Their prime competition for recruits in CO is Wyoming and Colorado.. if they can't win at least one of those battles then they've got some problems.

Perhaps there just isn't much talent in Colorado this year?

CU is only showing 2 commitments from the entire state. Some Colorado talent is always lost to out of state schools and Hawkins being a lame duck doesn't help, but I'd still think CU would have a few more Colorado kids.

CU lost commitments from the best in-state kids. Mister Jones and Danny Spond are both 4-star Colorado recruits that were committed to CU and who decided to walk away. The recruits keep seeing the way players underperform at CU and how the players outside of Hawkins Jr's little clique get treated like crap in regards to play time and the depth chart - so guess why so many decide to go somewhere else?

Now that the QB is in the fold, what are your impressions of this class? You seem to be in the know with UW athletics... thanks.

GO POKES!!!

I am excited about this class filling holes in the lines, wr, and athleticism overall. Plus give those 12 true freshman that say PT last year a year in the wieght room we should improved in several key areas. Hopefully we will be able to stretch the field a little bit more and open some holes for the running game. I think AA will be a great back while the guy from Canada should provide some beef running between the tackles and Evan Williams being a third down/scat back. Those are my thoughts anyway!

Go Pokes!

.........personally I would've liked to have seen an athletic DE signed in this class as well. As soon as it was mentioned that the Pokes were going back to a 4-3 look, the question was.....is it gonna be Biezuns or Knapton that had to put the feed-bag on. There will be some growing pains there either way.

With that being said.....to answer your question I think that this class (both on paper and on film) is one of the better ones ever at U-Dub. If you haven't seen the film on Travis Bogard then you've missed a treat. That guy has to be the hidded gem in this class....barely above Tyler Strong. Speaking of Strong.....Christiansen LOVES that kid.

Overall, the encouraging part of this class is the ability of the current staff to grow these kids. Nothing against Glenn & CO. but, this staff was pretty damn impressive last year in making adjustments for things that they did not have in ability as well as accentuating the growth in the younger guys.

Next years Texas game will be a dogfight into the fourth quarter.

Peace

I was hoping for a fast, athletic DE who can rush the passer as well. Something we sorely lack against good passing teams. Isn't Lange from CO a pretty athletic DE? Even though he needs to put some serious weight on.

Lange is quick and has a good frame to add muscle to, I could see him getting to around 255 or so by Sophmore year without losing speed. Also, if I'm not completely wrong, we redshirted Mark Willis who is actually very similar to Lange in both build and speed, so we have two speed options at DE.
