I wonder how the sunshine pumpers will spin this abortion.
If they're smart, they'll keep their mouths shut! Otherwise....oh, boy....
Bring it!
It was a terrible loss. But for crying out loud it's not the end of the season. CDC officially on the hot seat? Give it a rest. You can only call plays and prepare your team but you can't coach effort. WYO players came out with no desire. I talked with my offense on the exact same thing after a 47-14 loss last night. We were completely prepare, my boys knew their assignments ( things that have given us success all year) They got on the field and there was no desire and no effort. Just like today. Sometimes that's just how it goes. Call it complacency or whatever you want but effort falls straight on the players.
I'm not a CDC hater....but squib kick before half? Wtf.
Outplayed. Outcoached.
Yeah we were outplayed. Our special teams calls are not made by CDC. I was watching, his head set was off and he was talking to Smith and a few other offensive players. I don't know who made the call, and yes it was a bad call. But it wasn't CDC.
And I'm not defending, we sucked. All I'm doing is giving you a coaches perspective. CSU gained momentum on us after several 3 and outs. Herron had no desire to be on the field today. Smith struggled, but when he is putting the ball in your hands, you catch it! Do you want to blame the coach for that? We had 1 guy show up today and give his all and that was Ruffran. You cant succeed with only one guy making plays. I would also say Easton, but his one big run was against backups. Watching this game was eerily similar to my blowout loss last night.
Also, I will not write off the season on losing, and even losing badly to a rival. It's like you all said. It's csu, throw out all the stats and just show up. CSU did, we did not. I doubt SJS beats us on the ground. They really have no ground game which gives us an advantage. I'm over this and ready for next week.
I will straight up keep saying it. You cannot coach desire and you can't coach effort. At some point it falls on the players. This again is coming from an outside coaching perspective, not a fans perspective.
