Just saw the spread for week 1. Hard to know what to expect. I feel unusually anxious about this one. Would love to see us send the sheep off to the PAC boot-less. Huge game for Wyo and MWC.
The offense is getting progressively worse? UghThis game is basically a toss up. CSU gets the edge because they are at home.
Unless one team got significantly better in the portal this offseason, this is a matchup between two bad football teams. I have a bad feeling about our offense that only gets worse the further fall camp progresses. I'm thinking we don't put up more than 10 points in Fort Collins. Is the defense good enough to hold them to less? We will find out soon enough.
If we can't score more than 10 against this perennially bad defense, then it's going to be a rough year. This game is basically a toss up. CSU gets the edge because they are at home.

From what I am hearing from people only tangentially connected to the football program (ie. take it with a grain of salt), the offense is not looking good. Sounds like the O-line is still being dominated and no real playmakers emerging at the WR positions. The offense is getting progressively worse? Ugh
I've seen the same reports. It blows my mind that Joe Tripoldi kept his job this offseason after the crap he's put on the field the past 2 years. If the O line can't keep defenders out of the backfield we've already lost. From what I am hearing from people only tangentially connected to the football program (ie. take it with a grain of salt), the offense is not looking good. The few pieces that have come out of the media seem to confirm this. A lot of talk about the defense dominating, Hughes being picked off, and the one touchdown pass coming with a caveat of "but probably would have been a sack in a real game".
I'm not holding my breath that the offense is going to turn things around this season. Hope I'm wrong.
We already did send them to the PAC Bootless. We won last year, and they joined the PAC in July.Just saw the spread for week 1. Hard to know what to expect. I feel unusually anxious about this one. Would love to see us send the sheep off to the PAC boot-less. Huge game for Wyo and MWC.

Plus CSU has a HCCSU gets the edge because they are at home.
Defense usually comes out stronger earlier in the season, but, yes, it sounds like the OL and WR positions are lacking. From what I am hearing from people only tangentially connected to the football program (ie. take it with a grain of salt), the offense is not looking good. Against a Sawvell coached team on opening day?3.5 points seems generous.
Div 1aa not d2. Big differenceI'm looking forward to the Kevin Mckinney and Ryan Thorburn preseason hype hokum. Last year, the narrative was we had so many weapons, how will we distribute all the touchdowns? You'd of thought the greatest show on turf was coming to Laramie. As the saying goes, "past results do not guarantee future performance". So maybe this year will be different.
My question is: have we given up on Drube? I thought the kid showed some promise. It seems like an absolute act of desperation to give some D2 kid who shredded Hampton and New Hampshire state hundreds of thousands of dollars. Call it FCS if that makes you feel better. But it's not real football.
I don't expect to see much of Drube this season unless there are injuries. Hughes, despite what the coaches say to the media, is the obvious starter. I suspect Sims is going to be the back-up. Everything I've heard indicates Sims is outperforming Drube so far in fall camp.I'm looking forward to the Kevin Mckinney and Ryan Thorburn preseason hype hokum. I am with you on the ridiculous hype we get and the likelihood that the offense will not be great this year.I'm looking forward to the Kevin Mckinney and Ryan Thorburn preseason hype hokum. I get that. When I read what some of these high profile names like Carson Beck received in NIL, its insane. Frankly, it's more than he would get in the NFL. I don't expect to get a Ferrari with a Kia budget. And frankly, I'm shocked Sims came back for another year of this. I just hope the kid can stay injury free if he does end up playing.I don't expect to see much of Drube this season unless there are injuries. I suspect Hughes is here primarily because of the new OC. I bet he looked at the QB's on the roster and told UW and Sawvel he wasn't taking the job unless he could get "his guy" at QB - at least for his first year on the job. I would love to know what Hughes is actually being paid and how it compares to Kaden Anderson. The reality is that we are going to have to pay a pretty hefty amount to get a QB worth a shit. If we had more money, we'd have a QB better than Hughes.
