I assume it's critical race theory.
I'd say as per usual, the answer lies somewhere in the middle. One side thinks it's the end-all be-all and the only thing we should care about at the moment, and the other thinks we should stop teaching about slavery because racism doesn't exist anymore.
Do people of color have different opportunities and get treated differently by SOME law enforcement personnel than white people? Duh? Should every white person feel ashamed that our ancestors were racist slave owners? Hell no.
Should we pretend history didn't happen? No? Why the hell do we need to pretend that this country somehow has a perfect track record? No other country's history is clean either, and no Western democracy pretends that's the case. Germany isn't pretending Nazis didn't murder 6 Million Jews.
Maybe some people prefer their heads in the sand, though, similar to Turkey denying the Armenian genocide, or China pretending the Tiananmen Square massacre didn't take place (or the rest of the world happily pretending they don't currently have concentration camps). But I honestly don't think that's what most people want, outside of some Q radicals.
Similarly, I don't think a vast majority of people want to crawl on their knees and worship anybody who has a drop of slave blood in them.
