Also, I don't think the hail mary should have been overturned. He never seemed to gain 100% control of the ball; it was always moving up until the point that they knocked it away. It was called an incomplete pass, it should have stayed that way.

Anyways, on to NM. Good outing Pokes, let's bring the re-match back to the War, shore up the kick returns, and really put a thumping on them!
i dunno......that ball never hit the ground until he came to a complete stop and it was only then that it was knocked out......it was a miracle catch but a catch none the less

It did hit the ground and never stopped moving until it was swiped out of his hands.... At the very least, the call should have stood. There was absolutely NO evidence to overturn it. That has nothing to do with B&G glass which I always wear, that just wasnt a catch. Had the Pokes lost on that call I think the feelings would be slightly different.

The thing that helped us was the fact that they had three calls that all we're very similar under review: the Hollister catch, the Penny kick return flub on the one, and the hail mary. They called them all consistently.

In each case, possession was established while the guy was on the ground. It hurt SDSU on the Penny kick return flub and on the Hollister catch, but it saved their ass on the hail mary.

when i watch @ 2:44:25 i see both hands under the ball

but you're probably right about how i would feel if north tijuana state would've won....my opinion could be very much different, lol

side note.....watching the ref announce the overturn, he really didn't look like he wanted to be there right then, lol

Yeah, sorry. I couldn't remember who it was 83 or 88. I was too busy looking at the ball and his ass touching the ground.

I just watched this for the first time (they wouldn't shw it on the big board at the War)... No way that was a catch. The ball was moving and shuffling around right until we knocked it out! He didn't ever have possession. Certainly not enough evidence to overturn the call.

Thankfully this is all moot.

I get those two confused from time to time during game action. Similar builds

We'll just have to agree to disagree. He rolled over the ball and he nose hit the ground, he never maintained possession, the ball ends up on his ear hole because he doesn't maintain control after he rolls up on it. Thankfully it didn't come back to haunt us as the MWC so desperately hoped. Had that 2 point conversion worked, this board would be up in arms.

no argument here

The SDSU was a catch. My heart said no but I knew it was. But in slow motion it always looks like they have possession longer than they do.

My dad DVR the game so I saw the quarter on Sunday and honestly I agree with laxwyo on the final TD of the game. The refs made the right call in overturning the call on the field.

As for the other catch that everyone is talking about during the same quarter, that one reminds me of the infamous Seahawks-Packers MNF game with the replacement refs....

Anyone remember that one?

I disagree vehemently. Had they ruled it a catch, and then it stood I could buy it. But the ball was never secured, moved all over the place, and hit the ground. I have never read in the rule book where that equates a catch. This call has really divided the fan base (surprisingly) but I just dont think it was a catch

You mean the final SDSU TD? I saw the replay...it was a catch. Either way, it doesn't matter...we won!

I mean the second to last play of the game. It wasnt a catch

No we were talking the same play. The last touchdown off the batted ball. That was not a catch in my opinion. Youre correct, it didnt end up mattering because our D stepped up and made a play but that was a bush league bullshit call by the officials to overturn a ruling on the field with marginal at best evidence. That play never should have been overturned, that was not a catch.

Take off your glasses. I'm a huge homer and thought it was a catch upon review. I'm glad the refs overturned it so there wouldn't be something else for them to cry about. Of course, I would have been fine with it staying incomplete

I'm not wearing glasses or contacts or cheaters but I can clearly see that ball move, rotate, touch the ground, then damn near hot-potato out of his hands before he ever maintained anything resembling control. Sorry Lax, to me it wasn't a catch

Uh... the ball touched the ground and rotated? I wanted that badly to not be a catch, but it sure didn't look like it moved at all to me until after he was laying still on the ground and the ball was swatted away.

I mean, my TV's not a monster, but it looked pretty clear to me and I had no problem with it being indisputable evidence.
