Concerns with Bohl Leaving

There is a fair amount of press naming him as a candidate for the Nebraska job. As another poster pointed out, I think if he stayed at NDSU, he would have had a better chance. That being said, I could still see Nebraska being interested. I could also not blame Bohl for leaving if he was given the opportunitiy. Any thoughts or rumblings anyone has heard?

Nebraska is crazy if they hire anyone not named Scott Frost. Not even slightly worried.

No disrespect to Bohl, I still think he's the right man for the job. If he can't do it, nobody can...but dude, you lost in your home finale by 49 points. Talking about next level jobs? Comical.

That's probably why he isn't talking about it.
 
I don't think Nebraska would win with their boosters by bringing in Bohl. They'd just see a guy who went 4-8 in his only FBS season. They need a guy who the boosters will believe can bring a national championship yesterday.

Are you kidding me? Get real UW fans...the guy just finished 4 & 8. The riots in Lincoln would rival anything this country has ever seen if they hired Bohl.
 
I read this morning from Football Scoop that Nebraska's AD probably only has one name on his list and he's charging hard after that candidate.. probably not Bohl.

Per sources, Nebraska is targeting Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema and is in serious talks with him. Eichorst and Bielema has an extensive relationship from their time at Wisconsin (Eichorst served as Wisconsin’s senior associate AD, executive associate AD and, finally, deputy AD from 2006-11) and from what we hear this got serious quick. More to come…

Wisconsin to Arkansas to Nebraska... seems like a bunch of lateral moves to me.

So stupid.

From Football Scoop, the denominator in the Nebraska changes seems to be more Harvey Perlman than fans/boosters. That's a good point that I hadn't considered before.
 
Really don't get all the talk of Frost, you hire a consistent winner at the BCS level and hire a guy with zero HC experience and a potentially wacky offensive scheme? I see Frost getting hired on as OC, but that's it.
 
Paul Johnson should be on Nebraska's radar. He would be a very good fit. I still say Mack Brown because of his Texas recruiting network.
 
No way is Bohl going to Nebraska now.

In the meantime, maybe if McElwain doesn't work out at Florida, maybe we could get him for an offensive coordinator in a few years! :lol:
 
if he can't win 5 at UW yet, what makes anyone think he can will 9 or 10 at Nebraska, this is truly a silver lining by them letting Bo go in Bohl's 1st year, now if he's been here 3-4 years and we've seen progress then I'd be nervous, but the timing for us keeping him is right, as for the fiasco at CSU, it truly is comical, but if Florida really wants him they'll pay it plus add some games as well.
