LOL At least he wasn't Bobby Petrino. That motorcycle accident with the hot blonde chick. who was supposed to get married, got him in deep shit!!!!! That happened in 2011. 15 years ago.

That was hilarious, the amount of stuff that came out about him, a motorcycle, and a young co-ed. The meme's were classic.

I would take him at Wyoming in a millisecond. He would certainly do better than 'ol Bohly did.

I would too, but would he want the job? he doesn't want to come to a dungeon and have to relocate after 3 years for being fired. it's easy for us to say we want candiate xyz but they're humans like us and if he did interview and the AD isn't gonna promise x amount of $ then he would turn us down for another school that's willing to invest.

I guess you never know if you don't ask. Something Burman never did do. Would he take the UW job, for a 5x salary increase? Of course, he isn't dumb (I don't think - lol). That is boy band money compared to what he is making as OC right now.

that's true! a guy I manage at work is ULM grad, which is a significantly worse program than wyoming, and he said its nearly impossible to get candidates in the door because they know they'll be fired in 3-4 years.. so I hope wyoming never gets to that point

I mean, outside of Bohl, that is essentially what Wyoming football has been since the turn of the 21st century.

Couldn't agree more. In fact, we need to make sure the next AD hire is one that will never let that happen. Wyoming has been down so long, it is going to take a lot of hard and smart work to dig out.

yeah but you cant discredit those bohl years which actually happened. a program like ULM has never seen that sort of success lol

I know this thread started as coaching candidates....but I have a random thought for an AD candidate.

I wonder if Logan Wilson would be good at something like this. He was nicknamed the governor while playing here, so obviously his passion for Wyoming and UW would be unquestioned. AD seems to be a lot of fundraising/shaking hands/kissing babies. As an NFL defensive captain I have to assume he possesses great leadership ability. I think he would be a great ambassador for UW athletics and could bring in dollars. No clue if he would ever have interest and he'd have no real prior experience in this role......but he just seems like someone that would work in that role.

Program management, budget oversight, employment oversight, compliance, etc… are not not just shaking hands and kissing babies. Far from it. If Logan Wilson is interested, he should join a department staff and gain experience.
