Calling all Pokes fans

Now that we've made the national radar at #25 in AP, 1st time in 27 years, we need all people in the Laramie area and surrounding areas to help us fill the AA to somewhat respectivity on Wed night against SDSU, this won't be an easy one, but we can get it done with all of your help. Cmon Laramie help us continue the streak and come watch a really, really fun basketball team!!!! As a bonus there's a concert as well, come on your bosses will understand if you are late Thursday morning, lol

Way to go Pokes

Agreed. There is a Top 25 team in town, and it isn't the team wearing black and red. Give the team the support it deserves.

I hope to be there. Never heard of the band though, but that's me. I wouldn't even know who Miley Cyrus is if not for my cousin (who was a big fan of her when she was younger) and having her slapped onto the national news at times.

There is no way we fill 50% of the lower bowl wednesday night. Would be nice to see butts in the seats of the upper section though.

we don't know that yet??? maybe this is just what the doctor ordered

Hopefully the arena fills up. I am pumped the Pokes are ranked.

Of course it is kind of similar to a few seasons ago. Ranked in one poll, not in the other.

I won't be satisfied until Pokes are ranked in both polls.

Time to get another REAL big win and yet another road win this week.

I'll be there with 3 others. The Younger Brothers Band is a Wyoming band (from Torrington I want to say) that used to play the Cowboy quite a bit when I was in college from 01-04. They've been getting bigger and bigger ever since. They even opened for Charlie Daniels at Frontier Days last year or the year before.

I truly hope so. I can't believe we only had 7k on saturday. GREAT WEATHER. GREAT ROADS. Only 7k and the lower bowl was maybe 60%. I don't see the richy rich season ticket holders showing up at 9p on a Wednesday.

I am a season ticket holder in the super cheat seats. Only missed 4 games so far, this year reminds me of 2002 so, so much.

GET TO THE DOME PEOPLE!

I think it's companies mostly who don't show up.

Until this year, most of the lower bowl seats were original ticket holders from the original opening. So of course they showed up. By re-assigning seats the athletics office totally screwed up our crowd. Greedy Greedy Greedy.

And if you don't go to listen to them, you can at least go to look at Brooke, their fiddle player and backup vocalist... :winky: :thumb:

Brooke is worth the price of admission alone...lol.....Chauncey is from Moorcroft if i remember correctly, they are well worth the listen!!! play longer to piss off Skelator(Fischer) from them getting their practice in...gonna go to the Asstec chat site to see if they are talking smak now...lol

I would guess as another way to support UW. While I don't have season b-ball tickets, I have maintained 2 x season football tickets for a number of years.....all the time while living in North Carolina. Very lucky if I see two games a year and average only one a year, though in the end UW has still received thousands of bucks from me regardless if I am in attendance (and keep in mind that many schools count attendance as tickets sold). I imagine there are many UW supporters with like sentiment.

Not overly familiar with the UW b-ball ticket process, but I do know it takes at least a $5,000 donation to be eligible to purchase UNC season tickets. While UW doesn't directly compete with UNC (well, UNC did beat them in an NIT game in 2003), UW does need to figure out how to maximize revenue going forward because it takes slightly more than a shit ton of it to compete consistently.

But you're right, would be great to maximize revenue AND lower bowl attendance.....maybe season ticket holders donate them back (UW queries them prior to season and / or each game) and UW charges regular ticket holders an extra 10 or so bucks to use those pre-identified empty seats? Still a reasonable price for those that don't have season tickets, UW makes a little more cash, and the incentive to buy season tickets is not completely lost by simply giving them away.

Yup, this is pretty common in athletics. I know at my alma mater, roughly half of the reserved chairback seating was purchased by area businesses.

Can't be there Wednesday unfortunately, but making the drive up on Saturday. First game this year, can't freaking wait!!

yep. Got a work thing taking me to Bakersfield (yuck), so while I'm there I'll be driving up to Fresno (yuck + basketball).
