Call me an optimist but...

You guys are honestly telling me that your worried about UNM, CSU and UNLV? Really? UNM has lost everything to be worried about. UNLV has coaching transition and CSU, well lets just say they've fared worse than we have so far this season. Don't tell me that CSU beating Idaho last week has you spooked? Seriously. get over it. Our Cowboys have lost to two top 5 (at the time) teams, and lost to a legit tough team in AF. To be honest. If your worried about this year, i guess you were really freaking last year when we lost to CU huh? I'd say we are better off this year. Plus we get Utah at home for the last time. Emotions will run high. And I have to say, The images of Utah coming to Laramie in 06 come to mind when we beat them 31-15. And BYU might just be a victory before they tuck tail and run aswell. And even if we happen to lose those games , I still see 6 wins and another bowl. Be honest with me here, are you all gonna whine like this if we go to a bowl at the end of this year? Because I know I'll be busting out the I told you so's. And I don't want to see any whiners saying anything then. this is really getting annoying with a lot of you.
There is a difference in stating a concern and whining.

If we make it to a bowl game I will gladly accept your "I told you sos". I just have a hard time seeing so much optimism in a 1-3 team who hasn't beaten an FBS team yet, and who historically struggles on the road. I hope you get to rub it in my face, I really do.

Well, 2 of the FBS teams we faced are in the top 10 (not sure how much the UCLA loss knocked Texas down too) with Air Force still recieving votes and they have one of the top pass defenses in the nation (hence why we threw so few times against them). However, I am thinking that we do have a decent chance to beat Toledo, just like we did with Florida Atlantic last year.

UNM, UNLV, and CSU I'm not too worried about, especially UNM. BYU, well, if there ever was a year to beat the kitties from Provo, it's this year. TCU, well, it's TCU. Utah has yet to actually beat someone worthwhile, despite their high ranking. But I do agree that Toledo may be the do or die game for a bowl this year.

Not sure why you keep tossing around the "we didn't pass on Air Force because their defense is too good" quote. I haven't seen that in any quotes from any coaches. I think the answer lies more with the fact that we only ran 45 plays the entire game compared to AFA's 82, which means we didn't pass much because we didn't even have the chance to very much, because we couldn't get them off the field. That coupled with our pass offense simply not being very good + our run game working halfway decent results in lesser pass attempts. Its not because their pass defense is so great. A good offense passes on you no matter what.

And I'll say it again, historically Wyoming has struggled mightily on the road, especially in conference. Last year we made small strides in reversing that (our worst losses have come at home under DC) but we have not shown the ability to consistently put teams away on the road ever, so its hard for me to say any road game, even against NM (a place we have only won once since the MWC was formed), is a gimmie. Every game will be a battle.

Yet we had 4 victories away from home last year...

Does that mean we have turned the corner and can confidently say we will beat teams on the road in conference that we traditionally lose to?
