CAL faked injuries during Oregon game. Pretty incredible.

I posted this on the MWC board but thought some of you would like to peruse the video.

Pretty blatant in my opinion.

Gregg Doyell wrote about it for CBS. Pretty good article and he didn't pull any punches.

As I said on the other board, I know trickery is a part of the game but this just seems ridiculous. College football is losing it's way.

Anything to get TCU or Boise into the champ game is fine with me. There will never be any definite truth to these allegations. A "source" says so... well that "source" could be anyone with enough knowledge of the Cal program to make up something like this.

Let's look at this the other way. Oregon only won by 2 and scored very little points. If some "source" within the Oregon program made this up to cover up for their poor performance and lowest point scoring total. This kind of story could possible give them sympathy will the poll voters. Oregon was more worried about dropping in the polls and a story like this could keep that from happening.

I think this is just an attempt by Oregon fans and media to explain away the fact they only scored 15 points on a mediocre team. I believe a certain Nevada offense scored FIFTY-TWO on Cal... Utah State was closer to beating Nevada than Cal was.

I'm sure a total of 3 or 4 injury timeouts completely made Oregon's offense choke.

Fact is, Oregon does not deserve to play in the Championship game. If you really compare them to Boise State, there's no freaking way they should. Boise has now won 24 straight, and that streak started with Oregon Ducks last season. If Oregon can't take care of the Cal that Nevada spanked, then they really don't have much to come with. Sure they've scored a lot of points - by running the score up in games they dominated, but Stanford is the only quality win they have on their schedule, and Cal SHOULD have won... you don't miss field goals from under 30 yards in big games like Cal did, you just don't.

I know I'll be pissed when Auburn and Oregon play in the National Championship game. Ducks are overrated, and Auburn's involved in yet another SEC recruiting scandal with their QB.
