Fuck it. Let’s just play the players.

Once again, Burman should be forced to find funds to buy out of the byu games or resign.

Good hell, I'll never understand why he folded and scheduled those asses. I guarantee they weren't the only option. I never advocate not supporting the student athletes but for the byu game, I hope everyone boycotts the game.

This is just the beginning. While BYU has some wealthy donors, they too will be left in the dust by teams that carry a ton of marketing potential. Hell, Alabama’s backup QB is said to have already secured $1 million in endorsements. This is a race that Wyoming need not participate in. Frankly, there is no such thing as amateur athletics anymore, and, while I agree with it legally, Wyoming can’t and won’t participate in such an arms race.

I saw this article...the hits just keep coming. If a school has the money (or more accurately...if a school has large fanbase or wealthy donors), they will be able to buy a talent advantage. I actually believe this has been going on in the shadows for a very long time. You could take the second coming of Bill Belicheck at UNLV or Tulsa and get a competent, well run program but they would not be able to consistently dominate. The idea that long term success is dictated by a head coaches ability to create novel or innovative game plans is a complete red herring. The low level programs, measured by fanbase and donor activity, may be able to create a consistent culture of overachievement but will ultimately lag behind programs that have higher talent across the board.

Not to mention will lose what talent they do have to the big boys because of the new transfer rules. Imagine Josh Allen at WYO with hype of being a high draft pick and he decides to return 1 more year to solidify a top 10 pick. Under the new rules, Josh would have a choice: stay at WYO and perhaps generate NIL revenue in the thousands or hundreds of thousands (maybe) or transfer, play against the big dogs, and generate millions in NIL.

I'm not at all saying anything about Josh just using his situation as an example. I have no idea what he'd choose or what the real revenue potential would be but you get the idea. I hope it doesn't happen, but I'm afraid we are about to be a farm league where our best players are poached after a year or two. It might not be quite to that extreme, but I bet it does happen more frequently.

Can we make a board rule that posters are not allowed to post those 3 letters, anywhere, ever, especially not in a thread title?

To the original poster I say

To bWHYu I say :die: :butt: :finger: :whocares:
