Bsu game thread

Yeah, d2.
Where do you think the air raid offense and many other unique offensive concepts originated? The fly sweep pass out of shotgun? Maybe even more close to home with the Emporia State Triple Shoot. And many more.

Or does it only count when inevitably an FBS coach goes to a coaching conference and copies it?

Not a new offense or concept.

Lots of Os have components of it. The hc matters more than scheme. The coaching pool that can install a successful triple o with the new rules is limited making it harder to find the right guy.

Find the right guy without worry about the type of O he runs.

Ok. You’re right. D2 has developed no new offensive concepts that have shaped modern collegiate football.

Give Hal Mumme a call and tell him the system he and Mike Leach (RIP) developed at Valdosta State was BS and nothing new. Give Manny Matsakis a call and laugh in his face for his so called nothing new triple shoot. Tell Bob Stitt he is an idiot for the forward pass out of the fly sweep. Hit up Paul Simmons and let him know that he’s done nothing to advance the game of football.

Innovation vs 70 + year old offense. Three's a difference.

Right person matters more than scheme. Ask unm

Hey guys Mac Brown is available and since he’s getting a $15 million buyout it’s not like he needs a another big salary.

Wisconsin let go the offensive coordinator Phil Longo because, in part, they barely lost to #1 Oregon. The "air raid" apparently didn't jive with Wisconsin's ball control and clock management preference. Whatever...I hate the hometown Badgers. Couple thoughts here...amazing how some winning programs don't settle for mediocrity and second...I sure wouldn't mind seeing a dude like that taking the reigns at Wyoming. It might never happen but bringing back the Joe Tiller aerial threat would make me so happy. Gotta think that would work well at 7220!
Longo's problem was the Air Raid need a good QB for it to work. In 2 years, Wisconsin only had a decent QB for about 1.5 games until he toe his ACL. Otherwise, that position has been lacking.

I think it could definitely work at a school like Wyoming...IF we have the right QB (IE not Svaboda).
