UW doesn't do themselves any favors by scheduling home games when the Denver Broncos are on the tube. This may have already been discussed but it still burns me. Going to the Sunday game anyway. Wyo. game that is. :thumbdown:

I am not a fan of games on Sunday for religious reasons. (And Broncos are not a religion for me - I'm a bears fan)

I gave my tickets to a co-worker so at least they get used.

How anyone can put their loyalty to a pro team, that can pack up in the middle of the night and move to another city, over their local, hometown college team that's been playing for over 100 years is beyond me...

I've been saying this since I was in college. Pro sports are fine but I don't see how you can be passionate about millionaires playing a sport

I would agree but I just can't watch recorded sporting events, if it's not live, what's the point, just my :twocents:

Just DVR the Broncos...

Personally I can't stand DVRing the Broncos because I have to shut my phone off to avoid texts and updates from friends and online.
Nothing like DVRing a game you want to watch and then finding out the final score and it ruining your plans.

Fact is that Wyo should be smarter than this with their scheduling. UW knows that majority of sports fans in the area are Broncos fans, and with the playoff race heating up, they are going to be most fans number one priority. Why compete with that?

Ditto. Pokes first. The Donks as a franchise, I do not care for. Individual players? That's a different story.

Same here.
Can't stand the current logo Denver has AND I'm not crazy about Peyton Manning. Love it when he royally screws up like in last January's Super Bowl (& the one vs. the Saints).

I always hated the Broncos growing up. Now I just don't give a damn about football in general so whatever. Come on my how are you gonna pick a pro greenie team over your WYO Cowboys? Easy choice for me. Pokes every fucking time. :thumb:

I really dislike Sunday games and it isn't a Broncos issue or a religious one. It is just hard to get me motivated to get out and drive to Laramie on a Sunday. I have gone to past Sunday games but didn't make it yesterday(I would ahve made it over on Saturday). I don't have a problem with a Sunday game every now and then but it seems like htere have been a lot this year. I have gone to them but I don't know why they don't have them on Saturday. I don't seem to remember many Sunday games in years past.
Even though I would always choose Cowboys Bball over Broncos football I know a lot of people that won't so I think it is a mistake to schedule against it.

Sunday games are not good for a variety of reasons. NFL, religious reason, and people are resting and preparing for the upcoming week. It's just a bad day for a basketball game.

Also, yesterday it was snowing all day. After I shoveled yesterday afternoon, I checked outside a few hours later, and it looked like I had never been outside.

Absolutely agree. Lots of Broncos fans in these parts and competing against them by scheduling on Sunday afternoons is a little perplexing -- especially for the Cheyenne base. Small fan turnout and very little energy in the AA yesterday.

At least we aren't the sheep. Six home games at Moby with an undefeated team and they're averaging a little over 3,100 per game. Pathetic.

While I am not opposed to sunday games I get why the fan base hates them. What I hate is games scheduled at noon. WTF? Its right in the middle of the day. You get home and the day is too far gone to do anything major but not enough to be over...I don't know...I just hate noon games

Wyoming high school basketball just started this weekend. That could be one reason why UW is trying to avoid Saturday games as they know there are a lot of people in the state that will be traveling/watching high school ball on Saturdays, but will typically not be on Sunday. Honestly, I can't blame that logic, they should be more worried about people in the state being busy with Wyoming high school games on a Saturday than they are worried about some NFL team from another state on a Sunday.

Prior to yesterday's game, they had as many Sunday games as Saturday games (2). So it hasn't been that bad. Again, if I'm scheduling and my choice is A) schedule Saturday's when families are out watching their kids and hometown team play or B) schedule Sunday when people want to watch a pro team they have no direct link to...I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing they are doing.

Again my personal issue is religious. I know at least 15 people with season tickets that did not attend (because I saw them at church on Sunday), so I know they were not at the game. I'm sure there are others too.

Prior to Shyatt taking over as coach I recall very few games played on Sunday since I've been going to games (early 80's) Religion aside I'm not used to planning my weekends with a game on Sunday, as they have always been Saturdays in the past so I always plan my schedule thinking there will most likely be Saturday.

Well, up until the last few years, we were in the same conference as a certain religious school that refused to do games on Sundays.
