Brett Smith will be drafted by...

You'd have to admit though......bad team, but he'd have a great chance to start for the Browns.

I follow the 49ers very closely and have for a while. I can tell you that Jim Harbaugh is going to be in love with Brett Smith. The 49ers have a lot of picks so I wouldn't at all be surprised if they take him. Maybe they'll take him with the comp. pick they just received at #100 a.k.a. the spot Joe Montana was drafted.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Smith go anywhere between round 1 and round 5 at the very and i mean very latest. The issue is he isn't getting near the respect he deserves in media eyes but I think he is getting all that attention where it counts from NFL teams directly.

I don't think Brett is ready to take a team on his shoulders because of that I hope he doesn't get drafted to a team that needs a QB now. It's not that I don't think he is capable as we all know he is capable my thoughts are more in line with I think he needs more time to really blossom in the NFL.

I still hope he goes later and not earlier, I would love to see him go early and prove all the doubters wrong that would be awesome. But I also love what Kaepernick did by sitting the first few years and learning the system and taking the reigns running.

I hope he gets drafted by a team and sits behind a QB for 2-3 years and learns all the systems that will help him be a great NFL QB.

That said I still can't wait to watch him play again!

I love Brett as much as you guys, but there's no way he's going anywhere near round 1 or 2. He MAY slip into the 3rd round, but the smart money is on rounds 4-6.

He's going to make noise in the NFL, but he's going to have to do it the way he always has, by clawing his way up from the bottom.

Before his pro day I would have agreed 4-6 would have been most likely, Since his pro day and the show he put on I'm willing to bet he goes late first at the earliest or late third at the latest. It's highly unlikely he is in there past that point. imo.

I would rather have him go to a better team.. Browns were at his pro day tho.

I would be fine with him putting up HUGE numbers with Josh Gordon to throw to.

The Cleveland Browns are a cosmic sized Black Hole for QB's. Cleveland's OL haven't been outstanding for a long time and it would be a tough place for Brett to go. Cleveland has had some decent WR's but man that scares me that Brett will go to Cleveland. I will root for him big time, but there are about 10 other teams that I would like to see him go to besides the Browns. Personally I wouldn't think that San Francisco would be a good place because they already have a young QB and it could be a long time before Brett sees the field. Considering that Brett already knows Peyton well, I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Denver, because I would also not be surprised if Elway has asked Peyton about Brett. I wouldn't also be surprised if Tampa Bay, or Jacksonville or Minnesota or Buffalo took a shot at drafting Brett around the 5th round.

Brett would totally be ruined by the Browns.
The Browns ruined Colt McCoy.
I couldn't imagine how Texas fans felt about that.

I have to agree with Wyo1016 on this one, no way he sniffs the 1st or 2nd round. Outside chance of 3rd round, my money is on 4th round. He did have a good pro day, but the only things there were his hand size and some decent throws to undefended receivers, nfl coaches (minus Chip Kelly) could give 2 shits about a QBs 40 time. It'd be awesome if I'm wrong, I just don't think enough NFL guys are interested to spike his value into the first two rounds.

I definitely get where you guys are coming from and prior to paying attention to national media I felt the same way. Late 4-6 which could still happen and that I completely agree with. But after paying attention to a lot of scouting information I'm pretty sure he pushed himself from the 4-6 range to the 2-4 range with an outside chance of late round 1.

For example

Just search for Brett Smith in twitter, Look I'm not saying that he is going to go top 5 that isn't the case but he has drawn 500% more media and scout attention since his pro day. Before his pro day he was ignored and might as well have been a pariah. There are wayyyy too many comments from media scouts and draft analysts that are now starting to open eyes and that has really helped Smith increase his draft stock from being ignored to being talked about.

That's like saying Chris Weinke was ruined by the panthers.

Smith's name is not even mentioned in passing in that article, let alone as a possible candidate.

Use your reasoning. Like any organization is going to show their cards on a potential qb prospect they actually want.

On top of that the Eagles, While I really don't want to see him as an Eagle beating my Cowboys they did have 4 scouts at his Pro Day including the QB coach. Hate to say it but Chip Kelly isn't going to miss Brett Smith in the NFL like he did in College.

Certainly don't care for it but my money is he is an Eagle after the draft unless someone steps up early.

If they sign Mark Sanchez, as has been reported, there's no way they draft Brett.

I would say that depends on the contract they sign him to and how late they think they can pick up Smith. I just don't think he will be there in the late rounds like some people think.

Yeah, I don't think Brett will be relegated to flier status. Someone will jump on him in the 3rd or 4th round. Much like only a few "analysts" rank Brett highly, there will be a few franchises that hold Brett in a higher esteem than others do. Not many franchises were willing to take Colin Kaepernick in the 2nd round. Or Russell Wilson in the 3rd.

I don't know who Brett will play for.....but my money would say he does in the late 3rd or early-to-mid 4th..
