Larry did not make the trip/bus to go to Denver to catch the flight to San Diego, but Al Herndon did make the trip, just fyi

maybe the basketball gods can shine upon us for a change, oh yeah wishful thinking, maybe this is where the separation starts and we finish with the 2 seed from here on out, I'm ok with that as well

Hate to say it but as long as Nance is out we aren't even likely to compete let alone win.

Totally not expecting this.. If he was on the bus and good to go to Colorado springs, how has he not improved in the past couple days enough to travel?

Do you have a source? Its not that I don't believe you, I just don't want to lol

Traveling to the Springs by bus is one thing, taking him on a two and a half hour flight to San Diego is another. You could take him on a bus ride and still not play him. But like I said in another thread, he would only get on the plane if he was going to play, he wouldn't travel and not play.

And to answer your other question on how he hasn't improved, he may have actually gotten worse since last Saturday, this is one of those several months, not several days, sort of things. He might be sick as a dog, or his spleen could be quite enlarged as well, either one means not playing.

the snakebite continues...lol, other teammates need to step up like never b4, please!!!! i know this sound selfish on my part, but for once can my team step it up and play outta their minds, I'm forever a Wyo fan and it just seems like things never go my/our way....guess the way to fix it is to win the MWC tourney, end of rant

I hear ya Beav. I'm sure the team is less likely to lay down and piss all over themselves than our fan base. Herndon is a mini Nance and both Lieberman and Gorski can shoot the 3. Let's see how a couple days to prepare for a game without Larry goes. It won't be easy, but neither was it when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. :D

Go Pokes!!

trust me i don't wanna believe any of it either, and yes maybe it's time for our other players that probably get tired of hearing how we are a one man team/show, time to prove it, let's win a big game w/o Larry for a change, afterall the numbers are there, from last year to now, something like 1-7 without him.
GET IT DONE POKES

Yeah, it makes total sense that the traveling intensity is increased with a long drive AND a flight. It was implied that he was soo close to traveling last weekend, I thought it was better than 50% chances of him going to San Diego. I need to quit being an optimist, that doesn't get you very far as a wyoming fan haha.

And we've seen multiple reports (some from shyatt himself) saying that nance has been improving every day. I guess my logic was that if he was super close to leaving on Saturday, a couple days of improvement would give him very good chances of playing on Wednesday.

Herndon reminds me a lot of Nance when he was a freshman. He's going to be a star for us. Maybe this is the game where he breaks out!

agreed if Al is good to go we need to see him breakout and play within his abilities and contribute amongst others, and being an optimist as a UW fan haaaaaaa, records speak for themselves...lol

It was a game vs SDSU when Nance had that HUGE dunk as a freshman.....

I think Barnes has more potential to be like Nance. I think it'll be much easier for him to develop some post moves and a short jumper than for Herndon to bulk up into a dominant big man. But I think we can all agree that they'll be studs in the coming years.

Coming off a sickness that kept him out of practice and training and playing in the toughest road game of his career without his mentor on the court with him doesn't sound promising, but I hope you're right. We need a spark after Saturday. Herndon can hopefully provide that tonight.

He is going to be limited. You don't come back from mono and play 30 minutes, be lucky to get 15-20 out of him. Think we should have given Nance a shot last Saturday and then rested him if needed. Damn sure need him in uniform against San Jose if needed. Cannot afford to lose that one. No room for error now.

I understand one of the severity indices of mono is the swelling size of the spleen. Larry's must be big. Herndon's must be small. Shyatt knows this because the doctors must have told him. They probably know exactly how long he will be out. They are keeping quiet (and rightly so) about this.

Ha, no, this isn't a predictable thing. The doc isn't going to tell them he'll be ready in X days. He might give them a range, but that range could be anywhere from a few days to a few months, there is no set pattern for mono. And Shyatt isn't dealing directly with any doctors, he's going based on what Nance and the athletic trainer are telling him.

If Nance played golf, or something similar that wouldn't stress the body so much, no problem (other than the feeling like crap part). But being that it is a high energy, high impact, and physically demanding sport, yeah.
