Points taken, however, he can have all the raw talent in the world, but if he doesn't fit Bohl's 'Wyoming profile', it won't matter :winky:
 
This would be the "get" of the century! First the kid from UCLA and now Towns? Crazy. There could be a changing of the guard in the MWC very soon

I don't think so.

FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights have transferred are "eligible students."

Schools may disclose, without consent, "directory" information such as a student's name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth, honors and awards, and dates of attendance.

This was my thought too...I asked him on twitter if that is info that is allowed to be shared and he said its public info. Total enrollment info is public but how is it not a violation of privacy to say anything regarding an individual?
 
Yeah disclosure of a person's name is not committing a FERPA violation. So lame. Holmgren squashed a stupid rumor. Kudos to him. No wonder all the fucking reporters leave Wyoming. Bunch of guys crying about FERPA. Or was your dream just shattered?

"Is there any student information that can be released without the student's permission?

FERPA permits each institution to define a class of information as "directory information." FERPA permits public disclosure of directory information without the student's consent."

I guess as long as UW has defined Name and Enrollment Status as "directory information", they broke no law. Interesting indeed.
