BREAKING - 4-Star USC QB Ricky Towns

USC has blocked: any Pac-12 school, Alabama, Arkansas State, Idaho, UNLV, Notre Dame, Utah State, Western Michigan, Texas and BYU.

I'm too lazy to dig it up but there was some blocking that Bohl did and someone threw a shit fit about it. Said it was the low thing to do and it went on and on about coaches blocking transfers.

So for whoever it was that said it was the wrong thing to do and argued about it, every coach does it. Hell USC blocked every school that they play against over the next three years.

Umm, that would be me and it wasn't a shit fit. I stated it was weak to block a transfer to a FCS SCHOOL and it is. I sort of understand the block to FBS schools on the schedule, but it is weak shit to block transfer to a FCS school.

edit:wrong quote. Here is thread though.

Isn't USC blocking Idaho, UNLV, and Ark St the equivalent of Wyoming blocking a FCS school?

You stole that joke from Twitter.
Ha...I did not, but I don't doubt it isn't original. First thing that comes to mind for those that follow college ball religiously.

I thought he'd be Florida bound for sure. Arkansas? I don't know their QB situation but maybe a better (for him) chance of getting the starting job?

I think it was just a visit. He'll probably take one to Florida too and decide what's best for him.

Somewhat on topic but article why the SEC doesn't produce NFL QBs

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2550989-the-secs-passing-problem-why-cant-ncaas-top-conference-develop-top-qbs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Two things struck me: 1) Only 5 starting NFL QBs from SEC. I guess with only 32 teams, there isn't a lot of room for 1 conference to dominate that. Still, I would have guessed more.

2) The theory that with better players in the SEC, the QB job is a little easier so the QB doesn't develop as much as guys who play with less talent and have to adapt to smaller windows, slower receivers, etc.

Just saw the rolling ESPN news thing on the bottom of the screen on ESPN that Towns is heading for................

Arkansas.

Don't be surprised if this kid doesn't end up being a complete flop. The first red flag to me is he has problems making decisions and sticking with them. Thinks the grass will be greener on the other side syndrome instead of sticking it out where he is and working his butt off.

We will see if he ever starts a game at the FBS level.

Don't be surprised if he becomes a stud though.

Foles transferred from one BCS program to another.
Flacco got beat out of a starting position at a BCS school and transferred to an FCS school.

I don't have any judgement on this kid because I have yet to see him play a single snap of D1 ball. Kind of because no one has.

True but he switched from Alabama to USC and now is switching to Arkansas. If it was only one school it's no big deal but he has switched twice now.

Didn't he only verbal to Bama?
USC was his first actual school he attended. Arkansas will be his 2nd. I don't put much stock into switching your verbal commitment from when you were a high schooler. Especially when it involves Alabama and USC. Two of the best college football programs from all time. This kid can play. Simple as that.

Hell, ACS and Brett Smith both changed their verbals from San Jose State to Wyo if that counts for anything.
And if Pittser would have beaten out Brett for the starting spot, Brett might have transferred too.

I think people are overthinking this right now.

The kid just wants to play and not sit on the bench for 4-5 years.

Would you be saying that he'd be a flop if he chose Wyoming? Or would you be saying, "what a stud!'"

You're right he might have only given them a verbal. He may end up being good. We will see.
