One guy has us in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego against THE Evil Empire....BY******U!!!!!!!! :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

Another has us in the Arizona Bowl in Tucson against soon-to-be FCS.....Idaho.

I like the way the guys at SB Nation think: Wyoming vs. Stanford in the Las Vegas Bowl. :thumb:

BooHooU can wither away in independence. I don't know if this was posted, but the Deseret News in Utardville had a column with comments from Jason Buck about re-joining the MWC. Their on-line poll showed 53% voting "Yes" they should, if no Big 12 invite. Of course, in Buck's eyes, the MWC move would only be temporary. Get lost, BYU.

Amen, BYU can take a long walk off a short dock in my view.

I have a feeling that should things go that way and you do have Wyoming and BYU, that would probably be the chippiest bowl game you are likely to get. One request, officiating crew from some area far away from Utah.

First things first though for the Pokes, get ready for an important game on the road against Nevada. The team did great against two arch-rivals, now they need to show they can go on the road and beat a team that isn't an arch-rival. Go Pokes!

I may be in the minority here, but I actually would welcome the mormons back to the MWC. I know I know, as a Pokes fan I am supposed to be opposed to everything BYU. And I am. But one of the great thing about hating a rival is the chance to beat them year in and year out. AND frankly, I look back over the last decade and BYU helped in both money sports to make the MWC it's strongest before they left.

Rest assured I hate hate hate HATE the Cougars but would love them to come back with their tail between their legs and getting beat up week in and week out by the remaining MWC teams.

Maybe, maybe not. There's no history between our players and I'm not even sure that our players know they're supposed to hate BYU. Now, chippy between fans? Absolutely

Did you forget them trying to kill the conference? Also, they wouldn't get beat up week in and week out. They'd be one of the better teams by default as their recruiting pipeline has first dibs on a large number of recruits, and they're able to play those guys until they're like 26.

As did Boise and San Diego State.....

Based on what? I wouldnt put them above BSU or SDSU right now and wouldnt give them a distinct advantage against AF or Nevada this season... They would certainly be in the top half but wouldnt come back in and dominate....

There is no denying this....

Boise and SDSU were about to leave our conference, they didn't actively try to shut the MWC down. That's a pretty damn huge difference and not even in the same ball park. That's like comparing a regular breakup to killing your girlfriend as you break up with her.

I do not want BYU back. One of the big reasons the Big 12 is in trouble is because of Texas and the strangle hold they have. It was frustration with Texas that led to Nebraska, Mizzou, CU, and TA&M seeking greener pastures. BYU in the MWC acts like Texas, and worse, they will view it now as simply a stepping stone for them.

MWC needs to focus on how to help build the current members into more competitive and attractive programs. Adding BYU won't do that.

F--k BYU*. They're not even a legitimate university. We shouldn't conribute to the illusion that they are...

They aren't a rival, they are a cancer to any conference they get in.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Exceeded expectations so far. Losing Carl doesn't help our chances

Any bowl game would exceed expectations. Fan base was on cloud 9 for beating Fresno years back. Remember how exciting that was? Sure, it would be cool to play an Oregon, Stanford, one of the Arizona's, etc...but a December win over anyone propels optimism going forward.

Plus, cannot overlook anyone. Most of us have purged that Temple game from memory, but many thought it was a lock. If Wyoming plays a UTEP or Western Kentucky type, it would be wise to respect them.
