yea and make it #91calpoke25 said:If anybody from the B & G is reading, MAKE SOME FREAKING JERSEYS. A brown jersey with the bowl patch would be pretty cool.

In other words, Nike runs the show. On top of that, all Wyoming retailers had to place orders for those jerseys last December and didn't have them on their store floors until August. Orders for next year's Nike Jerseys and other apparel already had to be placed for next football season.
Custom jerseys (ones you can add names & numbers to), knock-off replica style, take weeks to get made. And honestly, this time of year (christmas/bowl season), most manufacturers could care less about Wyoming or the fact that we have the first bowl game. No Wyoming retailers (or regional for that matter) have the production means to build custom jerseys in-house.
I'm sure if someone could have told Brown & Gold (or any Wyoming retailer for that matter), that the Cowboys would go to a bowl game this year - they would have doubled their order. But the recession being what it was, retailers were scared. As a result, you have a limited supply of jerseys.

calpoke25 said:Sounds like you know what you are talking about. However my counterpoint to that would be that this has ALWAYS been one of my biggest problems with UW apparel, no matter who our current sponsor was. We never seem to even have any decent jerseys. Not for football or bball. Usually you have your choice of one knock-off replica jersey in one number that isn't even the same jersey the Pokes wear on the field.
I understand we're Wyoming and Nike doesn't probably care enough to make any decent jersey's available to us. It's just frustrating.
youngpoke said:Completely understand the frustration, but know that the frustration is the same for retailers. If they had more options, they would have more jerseys. Hell if people are demanding them, no retailer wants to turn down a sale.
However, I would expect it to improve over the next couple years. I'm pretty sure New Balance jerseys were hard to come by originally, but that significantly improved to one of the best replicas that's ever been available (just because you could fully customize it with name & number). The team improving has a lot to do with it as well and as Nike starts to see more of a demand, they will hopefully make more jerseys available.
