I hope Lieberman, the shooting jew can hit 3's. and this Vegas kid Dionate is a stud, because if not it's going to be a very long year. I tend to agree that our rebounding position is for shit, c'mon Coaches it's part of the element of good basketball. We never find a body to box out.
The shooting Jew? WTF

here you go!

Mel Brooks humor, man we need some levity here. The kid reportedly is a great shooter.

Always loved watching those hooters. Funny irony....that movie came out the same year I did....1974.

Guys I think we will make a run in the tourney. If we get past the first round and Hawaii it's inevitable that we will become circumspect but I have seen crazier things happen Fresno and Utah valley have shown in the past a when a prayer and skills beyond the arc lead to inevitability that cannot be undermined no matter how daunting the task at hand.

Now who can argue with that?

I'm soooo glad I held off on buying tickets to the MWC tournament! I see our girls lost tonight too. Sigh. Bring on baseball I guess. P.S. Lay off the drugs, Fonzy.

This loss is completely on Larry Shyatt. Having everyone play 35 minutes or more was a bad coaching decision. Why does he leave Halderson on the bench the entire game? Let the kids come in. You are down big because they are worn out. What else could it hurt? You can't play 5 on 10 all goddamn night.

Okay people, we knew a few weeks ago when Nance went down we were going to struggle, and probably lose out. Why call these guys a joke? They fought hard today, but lack of depth caught up with them by halftime.
We had a shot at winning, the. When it looked like BSU was about to take a commanding double digit lead these guy didn't even come close to throwing in the towel. They fought to the end. For a team that has technically lost three guys in two weeks, they are still fighting.
Proud of Adams, Cooke, even Grabau and Sobey today. Sobey can't back down to reality today, but Adams steps it up and Grabau a again great from the line.
Give these guys credit, for all they've been through they are still trying, they are still fighting. It's no like we lost to a bad team today.

If the players on the bench are so god awful they can't even get into the game with the current state of the team, they should just be cut.

You really are an asshole

You guys realize that we were coming back in the game with are starters in right? Why if you still have a shot in a game would you just throw in the towel and go to your bench? Do I think Halderson could've got some time in early, yeah. Washington got time, sellers time.
And yet we went from 13 down to 6 down with our starters in. Any coach would keep his best players in, in that situation.
And if he didn't and he emptied the bench and we lost by 20, you all would be complaining that we gave up.

So instead of bitching about any decision made, why not pick a side. Either give up on the team for the year, or finish out the season behind them.

You think it's on the coach, I think it's on the players. Is there anybody on this board that can have a conversation without calling names? It's like fucking junior high in here.

I was at the game today and this is probably the first time since Shyatt has been back that I would second-guess him. If I were the coach today, I would have pulled every Wyoming player out at about two minutes into the second half and put in the bench because the starters had quit playing defense. Out team quit today - maybe it was because the are tired - I don't know.

Why didn't or hasn't Haldorson played? Coaches decision or is he still injured, We are getting killed on the boards. Boise with a 4 guard offense outrebounded us by 13 (31 to 18). Sellers played 5 minutes and had no rebounds and no points, just one foul.

To date Wyoming has 836 total rebounds for an average of 28.8 per game. Just to give you a bit of comparison, the 1967-1968 Wyoming team was led by Carl Ashley - 6'9" and the rest of the team was anywhere from 6'2" to 6'6". That team averaged 47.3 rebounds per game with guys pretty much the same height of this 2013-2014 team. The 1968-1969 team was even a bit smaller and they averaged 46.5 rebounds per game. Once again led by Ashley, they also played Hall, Dodds, Wilson, Krosigk, Popovich, Smith and Bebout. Those last 3 players played sparingly.

The reason I bring this up is those Wyoming teams ran a slowed down tempo that Bill Strannigan was famous for. They had similar height to this year's team, and not much depth. Yet they both averaged over 18 more rebounds per game than this year's team. I've been bitching about it all year, but Wyoming's problems lie directly with the inability to rebound the ball, especially on the defensive end. That's on the coaching staff. Rebounding is a science and it is obvious to me that neither the coaching staff nor the kids are putting in the necessary time and study to be better rebounders. Until and unless they correct that glaring deficiency, realistically Wyoming will never contend for a title.
