Bisonville article on Wyoming/NDSU recruits....

From reading their board and this article I get the impression that not only is the new staff going after NDSU recruits they are probably going to cherry pick the roster for the good ones they got the last couple of years.

I thought this must be coming. The kids can go where they want and if Ndsu is still their school it won't matter if wyo offers them. Fbs trumps fcs and I'm sure we will see these boys in Laramie

I'm just sayin' if you think these guys will leave a winner to join an up-start you don't know Fargo football. Again I'm a cowboy and bison fan. But lets not get silly. We beat K-State who's beating michigan. K-State that is going to be 8-5 the same as uhtah st. Are our fcs players less than yours...with peterson gone Boise wrecks any MWC cred. I am a fan of both Su and cowboy football but until the MWC or wyoming win with cred...lets quit the bashing on each school. You knoe Bohl is all cowbog now but would never talk about the bison like some posters here do...keep it classy Laramie.

I mean no disrespect but it's the general hierarchy of college football. The food chain works like this. Bcs conferences get first pick of recruits then fbs non bcs schools then fcs schools then division two schools and then jc schools . I believe Bohl sees the diamond in the rough when it comes to recruiting and it will serve him well in Laramie. I do think that if Bohl wants his recruits in Fargo they will likely follow him. Perhaps not all of them but I would guess more then a few .

Off topic, but Biso Nation is the dumbest fucking pick for a domain name.

Edit: And Jesus, what illiterate wrote that? "ten's of thousand's"? "...keeping the current verbals in tact"?

Gene Taylor, their AD, decided it was okay to have Bohl stay through the playoffs. Then, named his assistant as the upcoming head coach.

Way to leave the fox in the henhouse! Or should I say multiple foxes with many of his current staff leaving for Laramie after Saturday's game!

They don't need Bohl to beat Pete Townsend State and win another FCS championship. They'll roll that team with or without him. But, I would imagine that if he left early, his assistants would go also. They gotta have someone on the sidelines in Frisco, TX!

Can't wait to get Bohl working spring practice! It would be nice to have the Pokes do to CSU what the Fargo school did two years ago at Hughes Stadium!

Big deal. Yes that author isnt a journalist. . But my point is big deal. So bohl talked to 3 ndsu offer recruits about going to Wyoming. So what! He cant bring the 13 committed verbals with him.
id say zero of ndsu roster follows him since theyd have to redshirt a year.
NDSU has 5 guys in the nfl today so you can clearly get to nfl thru NDSU.

Nothing to see here move on. Zzzzzz

Ps. NDSU has recruits that turned down Pitt Rutgers they can turn down Wyoming too

Yes this may be true but they came to Ndsu because of coach Bohl. I would be surprised if a handful of commits don't change their commitment in order to go to the staff that committed them. Bohl may not be interested in too many kids he recruited at Ndsu because they may not be fbs material

Why are you still on this board defending NDSU and acting like those kids wanted to go to Fargo, ND to play?
They wanted to play for Bohl, not for NDSU.
Deal with it. At the end of the day you are still FCS. You aren't a big boy, and how do we know this? Because big boy teams don't lose their head coach to WYOMING.

We had better not get too pompous about our UW vs NDSU. We are not enough better as an institution to be able to poach NDSU's president back when we tried to do so after Dr. Dubois left.

Also, because there are at least as many students who attend NDSU as there are on campus in Laramie, I think it is probably fair to say that there are about as many players on the Bison roster who are there because they wanted to go to college in Fargo as there are players who wear our brown & gold because they really wanted to attend UW.

We are talking about football programs that are only justifiable as marketing tools for the schools they represent. Before we throw too many rocks at NDSU, we need to make sure that we have as much substance behind our FBS program as they have behind their FCS program. Based on the presidential recruitment results and the student enrollment numbers, I think it is a hard to argue that UW is superior to NDSU in very many respects and if NDSU decides to step up to FBS, we might not have much to brag about except that we have been forcing students to pay high student activity fees to pretend we are more than an FCS program for longer than other schools.

I am seeing way too much kicking NDSU while they are down by Pokes fans to feel proud of my fellow alumni since we landed Coach Bohl.

NDSU is anything but down right now. Good grief they are having a great run and should be very proud of that and having a ball right now. Which they are. I doubt anyone is worried about the future of NDSU athletics at the level they choose to compete at.

You really want to compare the funding and academic profiles of the two schools? It is not about total numbers here. Compare the endowments for example for one comparison

I don't think Coach Bohl will be going after any verballed recruits of NDSU. The part hardest to enforce and go along with is the non-verballed recruits. In the end there is no way NDSU can stop Coach Bohl/Wyoming for going after offered recruits. I know it irked the author and many Bison fans skin that he is indeed doing that but I think most level headed Bison fans knew that part was never going to be enforceable. Those kids are in all truth free game for anyone.

you as Wyoming fans should hope bohl tries to bring some talent from a program that is 43-2 with 3 national titles!

:orly:

I don't think he is taking guys currently on their roster......almost sounds like you feel there is no talent currently on the cowboys........

It will be interesting to see what, if any players would transfer from the Fargo school to Laramie. Any that can play at the FBS level in needed positions would probably be welcomed with open arms. I don't see him encouraging any verbal de-commitments, but how can they enforce a contract if they contact him and wish to switch their commitment based on his new position at Wyoming? Assuming that he wants them at the FBS level?
