ok. everyone is bashing on utah for leaving the mwc, and i am no different in wanting to see them get beat this year but.....
being wyo fans you have two schools you just dont root for in csu and byu. no matter how much utah blows for leaving the mwc for the pac12 i just dont think i can really say i want to see them lose to either of those two.
how about you guys??
 
I want to see Wyoming, BYU and CSU beat Utah in the last MWC game. I'd be happy with Utah going winless in conference and then doing well in the Pac-10 next year for other ridiculous reasons.

The Utes sold their soul for more money when they went to the Pac-10. We first played them in 1909 (or 1906??) and they have a huge history with the conference, including their rival BYU. They gave up everything they worked for and sold their history. It just makes me sick. I don't watch the NFL due to the greed behind it all. I won't watch a Utah game in the future (unless they play the Pokes) for the same reason.
 
I want Utah to 0-12 this year. They sold out on what has made this league strong; history and tradition. After this year, I don't care what happens to them.
 
I agree, I'd love to see the Green and Gold, Blue and White, and Brown and Gold dance on their MWC graves. They could have stayed and when the MWC became a BCS conference, we could have all seen more money. They took the lump sum and skipped town. Hard to throw over a 100 years of tradition out the window. You should read some of the comments in the SLC tribune and other websites when there are stories about the utes. They already think they are better. They talk down to the MWC.
 
I would rather watch byu lose to any team in the country. I hate byu more than any school ever and my favorite team will be wyoming and any team that beats byu. I was raised to despise BYU and I just wish the rivalary was like it was in the past, with wyoming being competive. I hope with Utah leaving Wyoming and BYU rivalary returns.

That being said Utah pushes CSU for my hate list.

My list of teams I wish/hope lose and lose bad are:

1. BYU- By far and away

2. CSU-the border war is a badass rivalary game

3. Utah-That onside kick still pisses me off

4. Boise St- I hate that a wac team gets so much succes. (Easiest conf. in my opinion,with sunbelt being close.)

5. Airforce- front range rivalary. Always a fun game against them. I cheer for them against every team but wyo.

I hope they never win a game again. College football is about tradition and they just buttfucked tradition without lube or a reach around.
 
like every year i will root for all 3 of them win their non conf underdog games against BCS schools, laugh if they lose against schools they should beat, and my wishes during conf play will be determined by how the bowl positioning is looking.........

that being said, yes if it doesnt hurt the pokes i would like to see the utes go 0-8 in mwc play, and the onside kick still pisses me off as well.

i can undeerstand them taking advantage of an opportunity, but acting like the other dipshit BCS schools is stupid. they know they havent dominated this league to a point where no one else is worthy. they are just lucky enough to be pretty good now. we dominated this league in the 80s more than they have in any stretch over the past 20 years. soon enough it wont matter as we will get the BCS money the big east and ACC are stealing from us now.

i have spoken, so it will be.

For those P.O.ed at Utah, what if Wyoming had Utah's success in the past 20 years (National title appearance in the 1996 NCAA Tourny vs. Kentucky, two BCS bowl victories blowing out a horrible Pitt squad and a good Alabama team, etc...) and we were offered PAC-10 membership...Wyoming would say yes in a heartbeat.

As a famous line goes....Put yourselves in another person's moccasins.

Think of it this way, guys, at least it wasn't BYU that got invited. Can you imagine how much MORE arrogant their fans would be if BYU went to the PAC-10?

Wyoming going to the Pac is about like saying BYU to the Pac. It just doesn't work. Nor would I want it to. I would rather Wyoming stay with the MWC then be some California school's bootlicker. Same for the Big 12. I don't want Wyoming to be another one of Texas' bitches.

But do you see my point? If any Non-BCS school including Wyoming was offered membership in a BCS conference, they would take it in a heartbeat even if it meant going to the Big East or the ACC!!!!

Listen, the world now is different. Tradition takes a backseat to $$$ always has, always will!

If tradition was that important, we would still be in the WAC right now but we aint!!! Yes, I know the founders of the MWC were screaming "we were trying to preserve our traditional rivalries." But, that was all nice bullcrap for the newspapers and ESPN!!! Only reason why the MWC was formed: MONEY, nothing less.

Look, I'm not some Utah apologist, I'm a realist!!!! Utah did what was best for them, NOT for their traditional rivals! College athletics is a business! Nothing more, nothing less!!!!! :x

Utah for years... YEARS screamed equality in the conferences. Screaming that the MWC should be equal to the ACC, Pac10, SEC, etc. They went so far as to get their senator involved in investigating whether or not the BCS is a monopoly, if it's legitimate, etc. Utah spent years get hosed out of a TON of cash for their BCS wins, knowing that the team they beat made a lot more money than they did.

But now they join the Pac10, so now the BCS must be okay.

Trust me, we would be acting the same way if Wyoming got a BCS invite. Guys, we're acting like the WAC fans when the MWC schools packed up and left them for dead in 1999! We're better than that, guys!
 
Technically, the MWC is the WAC. They were the ones that joined the original WAC. It wasn't their conference, it was our conference, and we chose to leave our conference and make a new one. It worked out for both sides. Besides, in another year the MWC will have it's BCS invite and we'll all be hypocrites because we'll be raking cash.

First thing UW needs to do about the time MWC gets full BCS status is to finally pave the frinkin parking lots around War Memorial!
 
Parking lots are getting paved before the 2011 season. Supposed to happen this year, but got pushed back a year.
