And so it begins....

[/quote] As far as Olive, I'm hard pressed to think of any other person associated with Cowboy football hyped as much as he was but eventually turning out to be such a disappointment on game day.

I totally agree with this actually. I had high hopes for him after watching all those weight room videos only to see him get pushed around by the North Dakota OLine.

My question to all of you who are discounting this to "another DC recruit quitting" What will be your stance if Bohl's own recruits begin bailing on him? Will it still be the prior coach's fault?

Other than his calves, this isn't a big loss. He had what, 2 solo tackles this season? The dude was a beast in the weight room but it never translated on the field. Sucks but next up.

I'm not sure what happened with this kid ,but the kids just do not want to leave for no reason , and the reason isn't that's it's to hard or they are homesick , need to wake up or sh t up .

The calves thing has me rolling right now! I am not sure why I find that so funny but you are right! They should of each had their own zip code!

And his tiny levers. He could get a push, but his midget arms wouldn't allow him to bat a pass or make a tackle.

I wish him the best. My guess is that there was discussions about depth charts and he felt he had better opportunities in his life elsewhere. Best of luck in whatever you do, man!!!

Too emotional....I too wish Uso the best regardless of what I think of his decision. I also need to step back and not let my emotions get the best of me. When your blood is brown and gold this kind of stuff gets to you.

I apologize to both Slow and Beav.

Go Pokes!!

You never liked him anyway, so I don't know why you would care if he leaves.

The first Big name player has called it quits for the University of Wyoming. Uso has announced that he is packing up and leaving. You will hear all kinds of reasons, but the bottom line is he does not want to be here. I Know there has been a lot of hype about our early verbals but I wonder how many other D1 offers they have? It is my belief that we will see some more follow him. I already made my point in the receiving corps....everyone of last years recruits have expressed a desire to leave. We are on very shaky ground right now with this program. I know many of you have expressed that you believe that Bohl will get it done here but I have always been a sceptic. Now with Uce leaving the hair on the back of my neck is beginning to stand up. This program could fall even deeper into the shitter than it already is. I did not think that was possible.........

What's your plan of action on this mess?

The most shocking was your opposition to Shyatt. You were plum nuts on that one.

A tale that's lasted 15 years...it's not just getting good players that is hard, it's keeping them. I doubt Uso is the only player that departs this off-season. DL will be rebuilding next fall. Good thing the rest of the defense isn't.

New president and new AD. Mandate that new AD generate a cost/return analysis for money invested in athletics.

Cut non-revenue budgets by approximately 3% and reserve some of the football profits for football. Increase salary pool by at minimum 1 million for football.

Tell Bohl he has flexibility to pursue new coordinators with $500K each in his pocket as incentive. If he chooses not to pursue that option, then the cut to the other departments are softened and the football recruiting budget is retained.

Mandate that the new AD explore exactly what is required (other than pandering to the State) to increase our athletic budget; what metric must be reached (i.e. attendance, wins, whatever) so that we have a clear and targeted goal.

Give Shyatt his NCAA tourney money that should be rolling in this year.

Eliminate any and all verbiage related to how tough the AD job is at Wyoming. Replace all "poor me" rhetoric with a newly minted positive message about advancing athletics at Wyoming.

Sell beer at games. Install state of the art streaming equipment for athletic and academic programs.

That would be my start.
