Hmmm, what the hell happened there?

Played the 3rd quarter not to lose ( which cost us the game ) instead of to win, Just like we do every 3rd quarter of every game.

No, between DC and Calhoun. DC was pissed about something and they had to be separated.
DC probably said, "Hey, you were going to be my only other win of the year...how could you do this to me?"

Ok I'm gonna say it, first time in four season, ever, I'm really starting to dislike this coach alot, borderline disgusting, fuck maybe he just cant coach

Can any football expert explain why DC was mad at AF head coach?

They faked an injury on their QB when his helmet fell off so they could have time to get their backup ready, and a play drawn.

I don't think there is any maybe too it. We should have had more appropriate sayings on our jerseys. Losers. 1-5. Terrible. Sieve. Chokers.

I like the offensive talent that coach can bring in (Brett, Thompson, Mcneil, Alvester, ACS, Rufran, & ect) but this playing not to lose is getting old. DC will get at least another year, but does Tom Burman? The extension to Schroyer and now DC do not look good.

I'm just sitting here not surprised at all. Let's see, let's take whatever worked in the first thirty mins and flip it the bird. I told my dad at half time that we will play to not lose. Not to win. And........bingo.

No reason air force should have won. Can't blame Refs. Can't blame players for being not ready. The coach of this team has lost it.

How about the no-call interference of McNeill on fourth down at near the end? That call was as bad as I've seen for a long time.

Agreed, but that was really only one bad call that was blatantly unnoticed. Definitely P.I. but it should have never even been to that. We run the ball down their faces, then decide to run swing passes and crap.

Horrible play calling in second half.

Very disappointed in Dave right now.

Agreed. We can't expect the refs to bail us out every single game.

Listen up Poke Nation, at this point I don't know what else to say...this game going into the 2nd half, especially after getting a field goal on our first drive, had all the markings of a Cowboys win.

It looked & felt like we were finally turning a corner, the offense with Thompson moved the ball, we possessed a legitimate running game for the first time this season...our defense finally looked as though they figured out how to contain the run, we did have 2 blown coverage's in our secondary, but overall we looked far 'tighter' and crisper than we had at any point previous this season in my opinion.

It just feels like one of those years every team seems to run into at some point?

Dispiriting certainly, and a season of so much hope, promise, and anticipation, has unfortunately been shipwrecked before it even had a chance to get going.

I thought it was a great crowd at the stadium today (rain in the 2nd half saw lots go home)...even the camo jersey's didn't bother me.

Aside from my little buckaroo's second Pokes game, and the opportunity to drop off my latest Wyoming football collectible with the very classy Tim Harkins before the game -- I hope to have it autographed by those depicted on it (1989 framed Wyoming football poster)including Paul Roach, Dabby Dawson, and Mitch Donahue...four hours later it was a depressing ride home back to Cheyenne.

Yes, Go Pokes.

P.S. How about an offsides call on AF's final drive that gave them an automatic 1st down on that huge 3rd down?

Stupid ass play, but at that point, it really didn't matter/ They would have gotten it regardless. Game was over. They owned us at the line, even though we outweighed them by 20%. Sad sad sad.

I was out and about all of yesterday......can anyone give me a run down of this game? Particularly 1.) Why did Wyoming lose. 2.) Why does Brett Smith not show up on my box score.

1. Number of reasons, mainly lost the battle at the LOS to run the ball, and to stop the run in the 2nd half.
2. According to reports, Smith was out due to injury, possibly the concussion still, a more recent one from the UNR game, or some other injury. Thompson did play pretty well though, until it began raining.
