Listen up Poke Nation, at this point I don't know what else to say...this game going into the 2nd half, especially after getting a field goal on our first drive, had all the markings of a Cowboys win.
It looked & felt like we were finally turning a corner, the offense with Thompson moved the ball, we possessed a legitimate running game for the first time this season...our defense finally looked as though they figured out how to contain the run, we did have 2 blown coverage's in our secondary, but overall we looked far 'tighter' and crisper than we had at any point previous this season in my opinion.
It just feels like one of those years every team seems to run into at some point?
Dispiriting certainly, and a season of so much hope, promise, and anticipation, has unfortunately been shipwrecked before it even had a chance to get going.
I thought it was a great crowd at the stadium today (rain in the 2nd half saw lots go home)...even the camo jersey's didn't bother me.
Aside from my little buckaroo's second Pokes game, and the opportunity to drop off my latest Wyoming football collectible with the very classy Tim Harkins before the game -- I hope to have it autographed by those depicted on it (1989 framed Wyoming football poster)including Paul Roach, Dabby Dawson, and Mitch Donahue...four hours later it was a depressing ride home back to Cheyenne.
Yes, Go Pokes.
P.S. How about an offsides call on AF's final drive that gave them an automatic 1st down on that huge 3rd down?
