Puke in my mouth, but I agree with you Doc. There isn't a thing we could do today if they're gonna sink 6 out of every 10 shots they throw at the rim. If frickin absurd. Yet again, another team having their best game of the season against us.DocHolliday said:laxwyo said:Remember, Nance just isn't offense doc. He's our best defensive player too
Oh I am aware, but with the way AF was scorching from the outside today and the dreadful shooting by the POKES today...no, I can't see them winning this game.
You could be right. Who knows? The basketball gods hate us. Things were going a little too well for us....DocHolliday said:LanderPoke said:I do not agree. We would have definitely won.DocHolliday said:Even with Nance the POKES don't win this game today.

And if they miss a few, well, they are screwed. I think that it is a myth that Wyo is a great defensive team. AFA didn't miss a few - in fact most of the 3's were wide open. Contrast that to the AFA defense on the perimiter - very few good looks (and of course too many misses on the open ones).

We are top-50 in the country in FG percentage defense.Adv8RU12 said:There is a possible reason that Wyoming is in the top 5 in scoring defense: They hold the ball so long the opponent doesn't have many minutes to score. Actually it has a lot to do with Nance. I am not saying we would have won. We may have lost anyways but without Nance in the lineup it completely screws up the defensive rotations. No Nance down low makes it easier for teams to take it to the rim and then you have our guys sagging off of shooters or trying to help down low so when there is a dribble drive they get kick outs and ball rotations with our guys not where they would normally be and you get wide open shots. Which is what happened today.
In a zone defense same deal. Without Nance you have one less guy backing you up down low and you are getting ball rotations with more space everywhere on the floor leaving shooter more uncontested and wide open for shots.
Oh well it is what it is. Even with Nance they may have hit a lot of shots anyways. Who knows. Over and done with now.
Need to forget this one and hope we get hot down the stretch with a healthy Nance and Herndon.
So far the bigs I have seen is Herndon, sooooooooo skinny and weak with some nice skills, Barnes is a big stiff that needs ALOT of work and Williams, a redshirt that, well redshirted. I'm voting it gets kinda of ugly.seattlecowboy said:Cuttslam said:Its the same as last year. We're pretty good with Nance and a cellar dweller with out him. Its Nance, Nance and Nance. Yep. Makes me wonder what we have for next year without him. Hoping the bigs we recruited are going to be good otherwise it might me ugly.
