Does anyone have a list of true freshman who played this game?

Also, does anyone have a list of all the receivers who entered the game (not just those who made the state sheet)? I wonder if Okwoli or Joe Parker or Conway were in there for many snaps... we need to build depth behind gentry and maulhardt. Getting 2 100 yard guys is cool, but I want to see a better distribution going forward.
Parker and Conway were both out a bit. Not sure about Okwoli though
Pretty sure I saw Cashh Maluia out there. He was the one that demolished the blocker into the punter
CJ Johnson played a bit too, but I think we knew that was gonna happen

I sat behind CJ's family, didn't realize it was his family until about the 4th quarter. His dad asked me where I was from and I said Wyoming and he stated he was from Omaha. Of course the only player I really know of from that area is CJ, so I had to ask. Turns out it was his dad. If CJ is anything like his father (and other syblings that were there) we have a member of some of the nicest people on earth. His dad was engaging and polite, and I never once had to cover my kids ears when they were cheering or booing. This I can't say about another players family that sat down a couple rows (the use of foul language part at the top of his lungs). HAHAHA
Anyways, CJ's family were some of the nicest and engaging people I have ever met at any sporting event, thats for sure. CJ is a great addition to the cowboy family, so glad we can have great student/athletes like him.

I'm sure this week will be a treat for that family! Papa Johnson played five years for the Huskers. (Bohl and WR coach Grant were both on staff there when he was a player)

13. Josh Allen has some FIRE man. Not just on the field, but yelling at the student section to get going when the D was out there and everything. I like this guy a lot.
Josh Allen seems to check off most of the skills NFL evaluators look for in a QB. Great size, great arm, good mobility, experience in a pro-style offense, etc. Some refinement is necessary, but he has me excited for the next three years!
A lot of these guys believed that about Brett smith. Stats and playmaking in college football games (bouknight style). I think you are evaluating talent for playing as a pro. As a pro prospect he is the best qb prospect since Bramlet. Has the potential to be way better. Awesome that he is a soph. This guy is a legitimate pro prospect.

He's the best Wyoming QB prospect I can remember.

Welniak had that combination of tools, not as big of an arm, and not as tall.

Josh Wallwork had that big of an arm, didn't have the wheels, and wasn't as tall.

Bramlet was about the same size, with the big arm, didn't have the accuracy, and didn't have the wheels.

You can go right down the list of Wyoming qb greats. He has more of a prototypical NFL build than any qb we've EVER had.

I remember watching some absolutely horrible QBs get drafted ahead of Kellen Moore years ago, simply because they were huge. Josh Allen, if he remains healthy, will definitely get drafted. NFL scouts don't care about wins, stats, etc. They will see 6'5" 230 lbs with a cannon and speed and that's all that matters.

Hopefully they'll see that along with the wins and the stats!

Including Rush, six true freshmen played for Wyoming: Allijah Halliburton, John Okwoli, Nick Szpor, Cooper Rothe and Cassh Maluia. Also making their Wyoming debuts were juniors Jalen Ortiz and Nela Lolohea, sophomore Austin Fort, and redshirt freshmen Conway, C.J. Johnson, Davion Freeman, Jaylon Watson and Youhanna Ghaifan.

My only real complaint about that game was that second to final drive. We went ultra conservative and focused more on clock than moving the ball to the first down marker. We needed to run clock and move the ball - game over. Instead, we had to punt.

Our defense shut down the run. I don't remember the last time we really did that. 2007 maybe? Regardless, they were able to pass on us. Giving the ball back to them was a mistake - just as we saw. They tied the game up.

We should have focused on moving the ball and running the clock - instead of just running the clock :(

Yep. The interior defense didn't get blown off the ball. That actually makes the Tampa 2 work when you can stop the interior run. It showed on Sunday morning. They played great against the run.

Offensively, the strategy worked. I didn't like the passive nature of that drive either, but we wore their asses out with that banging the ball up the middle. Allen's touchdown was the direct result of their defensive players not having the legs to keep up with Allen. That touchdown was pure Cowboy Tough. We had their defense beat-down and wore-out for much of the second half. They got a second wind during the fourth quarter, but they we're gassed in O.T. and gassed in the third quarter.

My thoughts as well. Pass game was a safe option esp. with Lurry hurt/cramping IMHO.

Thanks. It sure would be nice to have names on the back of jerseys for this very reason...

Or you could just do what the coaches do and learn the numbers. I know, I know, maths are hard...
You're right, how silly of me to not memorize the number of every true freshman on the roster before the first game of the year.
Or you could use any number of devices to pull up this page http://www.gowyo.com/sport/m-footbl/roster/#/2016/Athletes/tile while you're watching the game, so, like the guys calling the game, you have a reference for the players you can glance at.

Or you could continue to insist the highest paid executive in the state change his philosophy for your convenience. Seems reasonable...

LOL...

Anyone here ever bought a jersey with your name on it, or your favorite players name on it (from any sport / team)? If so, you better knock it off, or you are NOT cowboy tough.

What a clichéd and tired statement - "it's about the name on the front of the jersey, not on the back of the jersey". Well, no shit. If removing your given last name from the back of a jersey is what it takes for you to understand that, you should have applied more effort in grade school.
