AFA @ Wyoming

After a slow start the Pokes are making a run.
Glad to see that they are still cranking up threes at an alarming rate 1-4 to start 5 minutes into the game. Getting outrebounded 5-0. Got to get better than that!

Someone on the team really needs to slap the 3 point shooting out of this team we can't consistently make them there is no reason to put up 10 3's in the 1st half and miss them all.

Keep pushing down low to Nance and Washington we aren't going to win shooting a 3 that doesn't go.

It's ridiculous that over half of our shots are 3 pointers, especially against AFA who isn't really a very big team. Leonard is one of the best big men in the conference and he doesn't get the ball inside nearly enough. When they do he dominates, not sure why he thinks he needs to shoot as many perimeter shots as he does. Shyatt has got to get it through Gilmore's thick skull that the ball has to go inside to Washington and Nance.

Ya we are going to fall apart if we keep putting up these wounded duck 3's, Shit even DC is making an inside presence.

Boss making himself known and visible inside like this the rest of the game we will keep it close and take that lead. There is no reason to put up any 3's from here out if they aren't going quit shooting them.

Looks like Grabau's was the only 3 and they aren't going to fall tonight because the Pokes don't appear to have good, quick rotation like AFA to get good open looks. So I think Pokes must drive inside, make a few, and pick up fouls or its over.

The fact that we've only gotten to the FT line 6 times means AF is either playing super clean, the refs are crap, or we're not taking enough shots down low in the paint. Nance and Washington should be down low throwing it down every shot against this AF team. Instead of trying for 3 to open down low, we need to hammer down low and open a more clear 3 ball. I'm not the strategist that Shyatt is...but if they aren't falling, they aren't falling.

My daughter and I are still laughing about Kevin's first comment after the end of the 1st half. "These refs are horrible!"

Gilmore by himself has missed nearly as many shots as the rest of the Pokes and has missed all five of his three points attempts. What do you know, the Cowboys shooting a whopping 8.3% from outside! Freaking pathetic, Shyatt needs to tell them not to shoot another 3 the rest of the game! At this point a three point shot is just as good as a turnover, 11 missed threes and 3 offensive rebounds.

Gilmore seems to be regressing as the season has worn on...

What the HELL? Wyoming has played 3 home games conference games and in 2/3 of them their opponents come in and shoot lights out. AFA is shooting almost 52% from the field and nearly 40% from outside, Wyoming on the other hand is shooting 33% from the field and like 5% from outside with nearly half their shots being three's. Getting tired of this chuck and duck offense, absolutely ridiculous!

In our first 5 league games, we've scored 50 orless points in 3 of them. We shoot 3's because teams pack the paint againt our big guys. Washington is double and triple teamed every time he touches the ball. We have to shoot 3's. This is major college bb. It's a 19'9" inch shot. If we can't make wide open 3's, then we deserve to lose.

Personally, I hate this style of bb. I'm tired of watching Gilmore dribble the shot clock down to 10 seconds every possession. Yeah, it keeps the score close. But it's boring to watch. Now we know just how bad our OOC schedule was. If we lose this game, we may be 2-6 next saturday night. This is not a very good air force team. We should blow them out of the gym. But we are turning into the gang that couldn't shoot straight.

This team just doesn't have anyone who can create their own shot. Grabau, Sobey are spot up shooters who can't penetrate. It sounds like Hankerson could be that guy, but he can't play till next year.

We play a 3 guard lineup but none of our guards are threats off the dribble. That's the essence of our problem.

We really need to see how McManamen & Haldorson do, They need to turn loose the young guys it's time to see who on this team can create their own shot from the arc, from mid range or even down low.

Other people on this team need to see the floor we can't win with what we currently run unless the other team is just in a slump.

Well I don't want to say we can't win this game but we have about 2 mins to turn this game around before we are in trouble.

We just don't have any way to get easy baskets. Every offensive possession is tough labor for our offense, Air Force gets about 5-7 easy buckets a game off backdoor cuts.
