Adams at Point Guard

You think Conway, Lieberman and Washington all stay happy playing minimal minutes behind Adams?

No but if I'm going to choose a group to have an unhappy camper or two I'd choose Lieberman/Conway/Washington over James/moemeka.

I agree completely. Lieberman will get his minutes and my gut says Trey will too. Conway, as a freshman, shouldn't get a ton of minutes until he proves he deserves them. He can't be TOO mad at that. James and Moemeka, in my opinion, have greater upside than Trey and Conway. James is going to be the real deal and Moemeka is going to be a refined version of DC and thats a great thing to have on the court.

Plus you have 13 guys that think they belong as rotation players. This is a really deep team. Or balanced. Because there's going to be 13 guys and only 8, 9, or at the most 10 could get enough time to consider themselves part of the "rotation" there are going to be jammed up spots. With this team it's going to be at the 4 spot and wherever they start Adams will either jam up the 1 spot or the 2 and 3 spots together

Herndon will be tried to be used as a 4 as much as possible. (Presumably Barnes and noughton could not play together?). So that has Herndon (a 25-30 mpg type player) AND Moemeka, dalton, maybe noughton/Barnes?, and then possibly Mcmanama and Justin James all fighting for what 10-15 mpg at the 4?

That's usually the lead up to someone transferring when there isn't the minutes to go around. How do you fix that? Make sure mcmanaman and James are getting the minutes they need at the 3

So then the key is Adams. Where do you want the other minutes jam for your roster. You could have a pg depth chart of
Adams/Lieberman/Conway or Washington
And say tough luck on not playing to 2 of them.

And have a 2 and 3 spots rotation of
Gorski/Marshall/mcmanaman/James (w the guards or momeka/dalton filling in some of the time.
You can keep those 4 happy with 2 spots.

In conclusion :

If you play Adams at sg: lose 2 or 3 players

Play Adams at pg: everybody stays happy and no one/maybe a 3rd or fourth string pg quits

I disagree with this premise. First and foremost, I think you are putting too much emphasis on specific positions. Who was the PG last year? On paper, it was Grabau, but Adams brought the ball up frequently and initiated the offense (led the team in assists as well). The key, from Shyatt's perspective, is to have multiple ball handlers on the court at one time. He has said this on multiple occasions going back to when we started a backcourt of Gilmore/Grabau/Adams after Luke's incident.

Beyond my opinion that Shyatt will start two guards, I don't really agree about the perceived attrition, nor the ceiling of the individual players in question. I don't think we have seen enough of most of these players to suggest which is more important long term. Moemeka is a tremendous athlete, but undersized for his position. The key for him will be how quickly he develops his skill set. You could replace "Moemeka" with Conway and the previous two sentences would apply.

Here is another thought.

Since Shyatt does like multiple ball handlers on the floor at one time he could still go big by having Adams, Gorski and James out there. You would have two good ball handlers with Adams and James. Probably won't happen but figured one of you guys could email Coach for me and run it by him :D

Has anyone heard how James health is? Is he still gimpy? I want to see him in action so bad. I wish the first game was tomorrow....I can't wait another week

This is a silly discussion. Sometimes we will go big with Adams at PG and other times he will be in there with a smaller guard. There arre a lot of different potential combos out there that are interesting. It will be fun to watch.
