500 grand for a QB

This is why I suspect that it would require splitting out football and men's basketball into some university affiliated entity that is considered separate from the university but still has university associated branding. This would allow for football and men's basketball to operate under a different set of rules and regulations as professionals, while allowing many (or at least some) of the other sports to continue to operate under an amateur model directly through the university.
And then cut a ton of women's sports, since they would wildly outnumber men's scholarships if this happened.

Back on the NIL/QB front - I'm sure $500k is on the low end for a QB. From what I heard, we paid JMG $400K to stick around for his Sr year.

Wow, that’s insane. Seems to be more justification for not donating to NIL if that’s how money is being allocated and spent. $400K to a tight end? How are you not better off giving $50K to 8 different players?

He finished his Wyoming career with a total of 80 receptions, 1023 yards and 7 TDs over 4 years…Dude certainly has NFL 6th round/UDFA athletic potential but he will likely never make $400K again anywhere.
