"It would make a good 30 for 30."

Or how bout this:

"Piss-poor Pokes: How Heath Schroyer and Tom burman brought the death penalty to Wyoming Basketball"

i've been watch in that one for a couple of years

I've studied Mormonism (not a Mormon), But what I learned was when Satan fell 1/3 of the angels followed, 1/3 continued with Jesus and 1/3 stayed neutral in the decision, God sent them to earth and cursed them with dark skin. They were also cursed to be poor and live hard lives (in the Mid East and Africa. Also to be slaves). This was explained to me by a Mormon Bishop from the SLC Temple. Ha! It makes me laugh to really think about it.
And to this day I continue to support Coach Eaton in his decision to not allow there to be an on the field protest. If I was in his shoes, I'd tell the players that I would not tolerate and on the field protest. I want our sole purpose to be about football and football only on the field. If they wanted to protest to do it off the field and away from the football program.

I too, could see where he was coming from. Unfortunately, it blew up in not only his face, but the entire school's face and basically killed the program for the next 20 years. A self imposed death penalty.

Dammit BYU! Killing our NC Title hopes with racist policies!

Pony Excess did a good job showing what no other FBS college football has experienced despite others deserving the same treatment. The NCAA won't kill the big money making programs.

After watching this film, I really feel ESPN should keep Craig James away from talking about Cam Newton as much as possible. He has had some passionate debates over the guy, and its clear his view is beyond skewed. All considering he is a blatant cheater himself.

What did CJ do to cheat? I don't remember in all these years anything being mentioned of what he received. I know he studied meteorology.

" They had notes on New England Patriots stationery that had the names of players getting paid and how much they got paid and how many payments were left. They guys on ponyfans.com know all that stuff."

I checked it out. It has been removed as it may have been a fake.

An interesting sidebar to the SMU saga is that Bob Hitch, the SMU AD that ultimately lost his job over the scandal, was previously AD at Wyoming. He brought Pat Dye, Fred Akers and Don Devoe to Laramie.

Just saw the episode on ABC. WOW!!!!!

Sadly everyone in the SEC is doing everything what the SWC was doing in the late 1970s and early 1980s but is getting away with it now!!!!

SMU's Death Penalty destroyed the Southwest Conference.

Down here in the SWC area we've been talking lately (before the episode aired) about how the SEC has long past what the SWC did.

I think the NCAA enables a lot of programs to cheat but not suffer the penalties that their own rules say to give. Just like this year USC qualified for the "Death Penalty" but USC is too much of a money maker for the NCAA to terminate the program.

I know. When Oklahoma got caught a few years ago with Rhett Bomar getting paid under the table while working a summer job, a lot of people though OU would get hit. All OU got was a slap on the hand.

The NCAA has no balls whatsoever!!!!!!!!!! :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick:

Dude, I have the real story of what happened at Oklahoma, got it first hand from a guy involved.... it wasn't just Bomar... OU should have gotten the death penalty..

Well since the NCAA is the BCS's bitch, I'm sure they don't do s##t without talking to them.

Oh I hate the BS BCS!
I even hate it for the having overtime games. I think SMOO is 2-10 in OT. I'd rather have the 12 ties than 2-10.
It has taken away a lot of upsets like Baylor losing in OT to Zero U (Oklahoma) and Vanderbilt losing in OT to Florida in '05 when Cutler was the QB.

In some ways I think it's like racism where some programs are the right "race" and get special treatment like AQ status. And other programs are the wrong "race" and are not allowed in "the club."

But what do I know right now I'm starving and have to go eat.

I completely agree. OU shoulda gotten the Death Penalty! All the Okie State fans in the state went ballistic when OU only got a light slap on the hand!

Reading other message boards some of the old SMU players were wondering if they were really welcomed back to SMU.
Some board posters wondered if all the banned boosters are still banned.

And I caught part of a recent interview on espn radio were Dickerson and James were on together. Apparently it was new to James that Dickerson had met Stanley ("the whistleblower") and had warned SMU to not recruit him. I think James called it a strong statement by Dick.
