STORY: Wyoming specialists Cooper Rothe and Ethan Wood come up big in upset of Boise State (trib.com)

“That was huge, for a freshman to come out and be (that) consistent,” head coach Craig Bohl said. “We spend a lot of time working on kicking, but you can work on it out there, you can video tape and do some things in team (drills), but until you’re out there in this situation (it’s different). Those points were huge.”

“It’s a fantastic feeling, knowing that I did my part to help this team,” said Wood, a senior. “Because offense, defense, you’re pushing so hard trying to win the game, and I only get so many opportunities, so it’s nice to be able to contribute that and know I did my part for the team.”

Watching the highlights, there is some real talent, but my gosh is Allen awesome when he is on! Some of those passes (and catches) were absolutely incredible. Thanks for posting.

COLUMN: Payback season continues, with Utah State next on the list (WyoSports.net)

“Trust me, it won’t be hard to get excited about this game, and that’s the entire reason why it won’t be hard to get up for this game,” UW junior running back Brian Hill said. “They were throwing fades until the clock hit triple-zeros. We’re going to come out and play hard. We’re not going to overlook this team. We’ll be ready to play them, and we’ve wanted to play them this whole offseason.”

Revenge is a dangerous motivator. Third-year coach Craig Bohl said he’s addressed that with his team. His objective is to have his team ready and focused to play this Utah State team Saturday night.

Still, it appears many around this team haven’t forgotten about what happened last season.

Not necessary, McPeachy, but thanks for the compliment. As I mentioned before, I'm reading and viewing this material myself, so why not spend a few seconds copying and pasting for the Poke fanatics. It's no trouble. By the way, I'm in Cheyenne. I have enough WYO gear to last several lifetimes. :thumb:

Wyoming vs. Utah State football Q&A with Jason Turner of the Logan Herald Journal (WyoSports.net)

Utah State and Wyoming have a long football history, but most of that was a long time ago. In your mind, and in the minds of fans and those within the football program, is Wyoming a rival and if not, what needs to happen for it to become a rivalry?

I know the players and coaches definitely view Wyoming as a rival. Wells talked about that during Monday’s press conference. I’m not sure what the fans think, to be honest. Based on what I’ve seen on social media over the past two week, Aggie fans have a lot of respect for Wyoming coach Craig Bohl and what the Cowboys have accomplished so far this season.

Cornerback Priester is back starting for Cowboys (WyoSports.net)

“You have to believe in the coaches, and you have to believe in the entire process that things are going to work out,” Priester said. “It’s just about waiting your turn, putting your pride behind you and keep pushing.

“You can’t pout about the tough times. You have to keep showing the kind of person you are and what kind of character you have.”

Behind Enemy Lines:

Logan Herald Journal: Wyoming is the Mountain West’s surprise team (hjnews.com)

“… We’re relevant as far as on the national scope with that win, and that’s just one win, (but) it has a huge impact in recruiting. Many of the recruits that have been on the fence now are saying, ‘Hey, I want to move my visit up,’ they’re excited about it because I think all of the talk we were talking about with laying a great foundation, I think people are starting to see where the foundation has been laid and the where the trajectory of the program can go. So, it changes (our) profile, there’s no doubt,” Bohl said.

Kosmider: Wyoming joining Colorado Buffaloes as rising Front Range program (Denver Post)

Craig Bohl is in only his third season as the head coach at Wyoming, but he has the look of a man who has been there for years.

He drives a pickup truck to work. He wears a western-style belt buckle. He preaches toughness and embraces the kind of blue-collar work ethic on which the state prides itself.

Indeed Bohl never changed when he move on from the dynasty he built at FCS North Dakota State, and he fits in quite nicely in Laramie. So well, in fact, that his Cowboys are starting to stand out.
