Wyoming’s Hollister wanted to be an All-Conference pick — and he was (WyoSports.net)

“A lot of it started in the summer workouts,” Bohl said. “He was a true team leader. He spent a great deal of time in the weight room and became more explosive. That certainly helped him in the running game, but he became more explosive coming in and out of his routes.

“He worked really hard this summer to put himself in this position. He came back with a more mature attitude and was selected as one of our captains. His performance has been one that’s really elevated us.”

Treavor Meader is jacked. Now if he can stay uninjured..
he's done this year right?
He'll have a medical redshirt most likely. I don't see how the NCAA could deny it, he's missed 2 full seasons. But if he doesn't get granted one, technically this is his senior year.

Seriously. Youhanna is a big boy, but his torso looks the size of Meader's arm lol. I guess when you're rehabbing a knee for 2 years, you can put up lots of weight on your upper body!

TURELLI'S TAKE: It's game time for Cowboys in Poinsettia Bowl (WyoSports.net)

Today's event put on by the bowl game was a luncheon for the teams at the USS Midway Naval ship. This was arguably my favorite event put on by the committee. Wyoming had a strong showing from fans which was great to see. When the Wyoming band preformed favorites like the Beer Song and Ragtime Cowboy Joe the crowd erupted singing along. There were multiple guest speakers as well as talks from coaches and captains.

I don't know where to post, but last night McShay said Josh has a great chance to be an early round pick if he stays and gets good coaching. I hope he doesn't get any funny ideas about leaving early. IT's different for a QB vs. a RB

Yeah, McShay said when he was in town that Allen needs to stay his whole career here

Windsor to make bowl debut:
Former Ada High star a defensive end for Wyoming Cowboys (The Ada News)

“We were really close to playing Shiloh all year, even before Carl Granderson’s injury at midseason. It was a no-brainer to play Shiloh, based on his ability level,” said Wyoming defensive ends coach AJ Cooper. “Where he has really come along is his maturity level and being able to handle situations on the field and learn from his mistakes as he continues to grow.”

“In the future, when he really understands all this, he could be phenomenal because what he already possesses is the ability to be extremely aggressive, and he is very athletic. Those are two things you can’t necessarily coach – a player either has those characteristics or he doesn’t. As he continues to grow and mature, I think he has a bright, bright future,” he said.

In a quarterback class with plenty of fluidity in the rankings, Allen has made his mark just as a redshirt sophomore this season for Cowboys. Allen displays the appropriate mechanics within the pocket and when on the run. Generally a good decision maker, Allen escapes the pocket when necessary with adequate speed and vision accompanied by plus athleticism for the usual pocket passer description. The case could be made that Allen has the strongest arm in college football complementing well with ball placement and accuracy from the pocket or on the run. Allen may be a long shot to declare for the draft this season, but this game will offer good exposure for what should be a top five quarterback for the 2018 NFL Draft entering next season.
