I'd rather have a 40 million dollar complex than a few pine trees . Plant more out front

I heard that there is a massive landscaping project in the works between the AA and the HAPC. 50+ trees and utilization of the spruce timbers that were just cut down.
I like that. I just thought the trees really added to the whole mountain vibe, highest field, Wyoming-ness of it

Is it going to be finished by next years football season?
Looks like 18 month minimum so should be ready for 2018 season
Yup, the timeline I last saw said 18-20 months. With construction beginning earlier this month, that would put it at June to August 2018.

The outside will be ready for the Oregon game next year. Will be lots of work inside, and we won't start renovating the existing building until the addition is mostly done. That is the reason for the 18 month timeline.

Glad to hear the outside will be done, otherwise it might look kind of shit on TV. Also glad to hear that Oregon hasn't pulled out of the game.

Late success has BYU feeling good heading into Poinsettia Bowl (WyoSports.net)

UW junior running back Brian Hill broke his own single-season school rushing record with 1,761 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns this season. He’s the Cowboys’ career-leader with 4,194 yards and 34 touchdowns.

“We respect him. We respect his stats and what he’s done, but we’re confident we can stop him,” BYU senior defensive end Sae Tautu said late last week.

“We’re going to go out there and play as we have all season – fly to the ball and make plays. We have so many playmakers on the field that it’s hard for one guy to beat our defense.”

When I saw this it reminded me I hadn't seen tweets from Allbright in a long time. I used to follow him and really liked him. Smart dude and kept an eye on Wyoming. So I went and looked and apparently he blocked me. Haha. I never tweeted at him. In fact I have sent maybe 5 tweets my entire life. I remember he was getting into political arguments with some a-holes last I remember. I must have gotten caught up in the block party. Kinda funny but unfortunate cuz I really liked his outlook/opinions.

Awesome to see the attention Allen is starting to get. By his senior year he could be getting massive media attention and bringing lots of eyes to UW football.

Turelli's Take Day 2: Time to put the pads back on (WyoSports.net)

I guess the first segment went well enough to continue on filling in Cowboys fans on how we are getting prepared for the game. Monday was a day that felt very busy even though there was not a whole lot going on for us.

Everyone on the team lifted early in the morning to make sure not to interfere with the finals schedule. I had a great work out with preseason All-America fullback Drew VanMaanen, who really does a good job of motivating not only myself, but the group as a whole.

1 guy? Apparently they haven't seen tape of Allen. Or Gentry. Or Maulhardt. Or Hollister. Each of these guys have shown they can take over a game and be unstoppable. I pray the mormons only worry about Hill. As we get closer, I become more and more confident the good guys will win this game.

But seriously, how is this Magnum dude in his 20s.... He looks like a 45 year old rigger from Gillette...

I do agree that stopping the run is how you stop us however. We make our living converting third and short and that relies heavily on hill getting his 3-5 on first down. If we are in 3rd and seven often we are in trouble.

Much like our game plan of stopping pumphry they will have that same approach on hill. That should open our passing game but Allen needs to be smart as they have an opportunistic defense that gets a lot of turnovers.

Magnum was in the same recruiting class as Marcus Marriotta

Craig Bohl Weekly Press Conference - Poinsettia Bowl (12-13-16) -- Wyo-Vision

Wyoming Head Football Coach Craig Bohl's weekly press conference as the Pokes prepare to take on BYU in the 2016 Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego on 12/21/16.

Bohl looks to re-establish winning tradition at Wyoming (thespec.com)

"I felt like we could be a bowl eligible team, but to be out here at War Memorial Stadium and come within three points of winning everything — that probably exceeded my expectation," (Bohl) said. "But I think it gives us an indication where we can go in the future."

"We're a tough out at home right now — that's step one — and as you get older players in the program, more seniors, then you become better on the road," Burman said.

"The real problem for the rest of us is that Wyoming is just going to get better and better and that's a problem for all the rest of us," San Diego State coach Rocky Long said after his team beat Wyoming for the conference championship.

Third-year coach Craig Bohl said Tuesday that at the end of some of UW’s practices for the Dec. 21 Poinsettia Bowl that some of the scout team guys will get a chance to scrimmage and get in some live action.

One of those was Monday night, and this is what Bohl said he liked from some of his younger guys.

“I thought (true freshman running back) Mike Green did some good things, along with (true freshman wide receiver) Parker Dumas on offense,” Bohl said. “On defense I liked some things from (true freshman linebacker) Jahmari Moore and (true freshman walk-on defensive end) Garrett Crall.”

Notebook: Wyoming nose tackle Sidney Malauulu more than 'functional' on injured foot (trib.com)

The sophomore nose tackle seemed to function just fine. He hauled in an interception, his first at the collegiate level, and had a tackle for loss in the championship game.

"Coaches, they were happy for me, but they were half-jokingly saying, ‘If you feel the screen, go look for the back. Don’t look for the ball,’" he said. "If he put it any higher up, I wouldn’t have gotten it. Got to go get the back."

If he hadn't made the interception, he would've been in trouble.

Nulph column: Wilson another example of embracing ‘those who stay’ (WyoSports.net)

It’s a phrase Cowboys coach Craig Bohl put on the locker room doors as a motivational tool for his team when he took over the program nearly four years ago now.

“Those who stay will be champions” nearly came to fruition within three years of its arrival in Laramie as the UW football program came within a play or two of winning the Mountain West football championship.

“When you get to come here, you feel you have the support of the entire state, not just the town you’re from,” (Wilson) said. “Not a lot of kids can say that.”
