I couldn't care one way or the other, but it is worth noting that he was asked at some point since last season how he felt about starting and he said he preferred to come off the bench. Theres something about coming off the bench and being a spark that he relishes. I don't know if Shy will take a players preference into account. I won't be surprised if he is starting and I won't be surprised if he isn't.TSpoke said:nwpoke said:It seemed last year T.W.III irritated folks with how he went about defending his team - I'd love to see him win those fans back by taking that attitude to another level on the court. I agree. I expect big things from TW3.

Also looks like people that don't want/think McM to start are gonna be dissapointed. I am excited to see what he can do with an expanded role. I'm higher on him than others on here.
While its not what I personally would do, I can understand it. Shyatt demands defense, consistency and reliability. Mac is near the top of the team in all three areas.TSpoke said:Also looks like people that don't want/think McM to start are gonna be dissapointed. Eh. JMac isn't the athlete Sawyer was. Jmac will be a valuable three and d guys. Solid playerseattlecowboy said:Mac will start along with Trey. I could see Mac end up contributing like Greg Sawyer did personally. Greg averaged 2.2 ppg then the next year took a jump up to over 12 ppg and then 14 ppg with Shyatt coaching him back in 95.
That team if I remember had 9 or 10 guys contribute and I am thinking this team could end up being somewhat similar to them but more talented over all and also more youth.

That's certainly the way it sounds, Seattle. Personally, I'm surprised Dalton is considered in that group. I guess his shooting and junior college experience is helping him climb above Naughton (who I thought would be a solid backup center with his size). Hopefully, everyone is healthy tonight.seattlecowboy said:From reading the last basketball article Holmgren put out it seems these are the top 9 guys in no particular order with the rest possibly red shirting or fighting for playing time:
Adams
Washington
Herndon
Barnes
Lieberman
Aka Gorski
JMac
James
Dalton
The rest:
Marshall
Moemeka
Naughton
Conway
Redshirting for sure:
Kelley
Averbuck

And for good reason.... He wouldn't start on this team... He wouldn't see serious minutes I don't think...WYCowboy said:I think everyone forgot about Halderson.
