2015/2016 basketball articles, discussion, video, tweets....

It seemed last year T.W.III irritated folks with how he went about defending his team - I'd love to see him win those fans back by taking that attitude to another level on the court. I can't wait to see these guys run folks out of the AA...1 more day!

Also looks like people that don't want/think McM to start are gonna be dissapointed. I am excited to see what he can do with an expanded role. I'm higher on him than others on here.

I couldn't care one way or the other, but it is worth noting that he was asked at some point since last season how he felt about starting and he said he preferred to come off the bench. Theres something about coming off the bench and being a spark that he relishes. I don't know if Shy will take a players preference into account. I won't be surprised if he is starting and I won't be surprised if he isn't.

While its not what I personally would do, I can understand it. Shyatt demands defense, consistency and reliability. Mac is near the top of the team in all three areas.
 
Mac will start along with Trey. I could see Mac end up contributing like Greg Sawyer did personally. Greg averaged 2.2 ppg then the next year took a jump up to over 12 ppg and then 14 ppg with Shyatt coaching him back in 95.

That team if I remember had 9 or 10 guys contribute and I am thinking this team could end up being somewhat similar to them but more talented over all and also more youth.

Eh. JMac isn't the athlete Sawyer was. Jmac will be a valuable three and d guys. Solid player

My point is more that I think Jmac can put up 10 ppg this year to help the team and take a step up like Sawyer did between years while going from 2 ppg to 12 ppg.. I am looking at it from an overall team standpoint when comparing the teams. I agree Jmac is more of a 3 and d guy but maybe he has improved his taking the ball to the basket game.

Agree Sawyer was a better overall athlete.

I think this team will have 8 or 9 guys contribute like that one did and this one while younger has more talent top to bottom.

That's certainly the way it sounds, Seattle. Personally, I'm surprised Dalton is considered in that group. I guess his shooting and junior college experience is helping him climb above Naughton (who I thought would be a solid backup center with his size). Hopefully, everyone is healthy tonight.

I agree. It shocks me that Naughton is not being considered for time...He looks legit....
 
It is up to the players, if they want to redshirt. We'll see if anyone makes that choice. It would really benefit all of those guys.
