There better be some heads rolling

If Sawvel is let go would you bring him back as a DC? I ask because Virginia Tech brought their fired HC coach back as DC this season, Brent Pry.

Remember when Lee Moon came to UW? He immediately began firing and hiring “his” people. That went over like a sack of dead babies.

Burmans contract is available online. I already posted it on here before. There’s no penalty provision in excess of the total amount due.

I’m skeptical on this. It doesn’t make sense unless Burman is fired simultaneously and I just don’t see the BoT allowing that to happen as opposed to Burman serving out his time until June 2027.

You are probably right. Not sure if the new blood on the board would go for that. Though four have expiring terms in 2027.

Meh. IMO, the defense got worse when Sawvel arrived. The defense in the Air Farce (Bohl's last season) loss after we built a big lead was unforgivable. The defense against UNLV and Boise st that same season was MIA. He was the 3d best D coordinator during the Bohl era.

Wyoming defense with Sawful as DC ranked an average of 6th in the MWC with 2023 the bright spot at 3rd.

Wyoming defense with Sawful as the head job and the son of CB the DC has an average rank of 7th in the MWC.

Wyoming offense with Bohl the head coach averaged 9th in the MWC.

Wyoming offense with Sawful as the head job averaged 11th in the MWC.

Currently the 2026 version of Sawful has the program at 9th on offense and the defense at 6th in the MWC ranks without playing any conference games yet.

The 5 year average rank for Wyoming in the MWC is 10th in offense and 6th in defense. That goes a long way in explaining why the program has a 5 year record of 30-33 (16-23) with Bohl guiding the program to 23-16 (12-12) the first 3 of those 5 years.

AFA was 38-25 (22-17) in the same stretch, was ranked behind Wyoming in total offense one time (2024) and was #1 in defense from 2021-2024. AFA happened to go 29-10 (16-8) during the last 3 Bohl seasons.

My point is look at the success of AFA football compared to Wyoming but AFA departed with their AD earlier this summer.

If the football program stays sub .500 this season for the third consecutive season Howdy Doody will probably be announced as a retirement kind of deal like Fisher DeBerry was after 3 losing seasons.

At Wyoming when it comes to being held accountable for mediocrity the silence is deafening.

💯 he wasn’t even a good d coordinator. He just stepped into a good, well oiled machine and sort of, but not really, kept it going. How he became a D-1 head coach with his ironclad contract is astounding (should be investigated).

Then how the hell can he be a D1 head coach making guaranteed money with zero pedigree, zero head coaching experience, zero time management skills, and a complete buffoon. WthheeeeF Burman, does he have pictures on you, Bohl or someone else… smh
