Who replaces Burman? Sawful?

With this season being a lost cause (it is...really), who replaces Burman and Sawful?

I hope we go find an AD that understands leverage and competitiveness in the modern era. No Bohl. No one from anywhere in our AD.

As for FB HC, my list might include a guy like Mark Stoops, Mike Shanahan (or anyone from Cignetti's staff), Shane Beamer if USC cuts him loose?

This day and age you need to hire an AD who will bring a coach and a coach who will bring half a team. I’ll give you an outside the box name: young Slade Larscheid, AD from Ohio University. Originally from Spearfish, SD just over the border and came from South Dakota State where they just win in a cold crappy town. Ohio has won the second most games in the group of 5 over the past 10 years or something like that. They’ve got a new young coach who appears to be able to develop quarterbacks. They’ll be good this year.

Let’s take a chance on some younger talent and if we can’t out resource a MAC school we might as well join their conference.

Sign me up.

UNC and CMU are the only likely wins on an otherwise crummy schedule. Maybe Northern Illinois could be added - they are a bigger train wreck than we are. All others are either toss ups or us getting boat raced. We will see nothing by 9 man fronts the rest of the way.

UTEP, Northern Illinois and Central Michigan are all bottom 10 teams.

Wyoming is going to play the worst schedule it has ever played.

The new AD and HC….. MUST NOT BE ANYONE WITH ANY TIES TO UW….

Please just do national searches and hire the best available candidates. utah state has been doing this for 20 years and they have blown past us

If you're a program like Wyoming you need to be looking at candidates on their way up the ladder ... no one wanted a Sawvel, but we got one. Not a guy that was on his way up the coaching ladder. A new search must include someone who's ladder climbing, not looking for a parachute.

From the Athletic:

Jerry Mack - Kennesaw State HC
Lance Taylor - Western Michigan HC
Brad Spencer - North Central College HC
LeVar Woods - Michigan State St Coach (and likely successor to Ferentz at Iowa)
James Laurinaitis - Ohio State LB Coach
Greg Gasparato - Florida LB Coach

I hope they hire outside the university for a new AD and that person chooses a new head football coach.

Besides the names already mentioned, why not give Bryan Kelly a chance to revive the program.

He’s basically the same age as Craig Bohl. But he knows how to build a program. He turned Grand Valley State from pretty much nothing to the most dominant program in the country (similarly to what Paul Simmons has done in recent years at Harding).

I think what he did at GVSU with limited resources is much more relevant to Wyoming than what he did at Notre Dame and LSU with limitless resources.
