I am very concerned about our offense, especially with this being our first game running an entirely new system.
Unfortunately, I don't think we score more than 10 points. Our defense will keep us within reach most of the game, but the offense will falter over and over again before CSU puts it to bed late in the 4th.
I bet we see a lot of the same things we have seen in Sawvel's first two years. Lots of untimely penalties, boneheaded clock management, and at least one big special teams miscue. Final score, 24-10 CSU.

It's strange. I think the game means far more to the fans than the players. Csewe has only about a dozen Colorado players on their team. With NIL and the portal, rivalries are a thing of the past. The sheep have 74 new players this year. Just for that alone, I'll pick us to eek it out 10-9.

I went back and watched the UNI from last year a little bit yesterday. Sam Scott scored on a 18 yard TD run at one point in the game. Only ONE OL got past the line of scrimmage and three others were literally laying on the turf at the 18 and not on a block. Caden Barnett the TE and a WR sprung Sam Scott for the TD.
I just can't see the OL being better right now. Wes King was terrible last year but somehow starts at WVU this year? Unless Tripodi just had a bad batch in the room I have no faith in Wyoming scoring a ton of points. Should the Taylor O with a QB that knows his system score a ton absolutely. UNLV O is the same way good talent poor front five.
Wyoming D keeps Wyoming it in it, similar to Utah last year, but CSU 31 Wyo 10.

these are two really bad teams. At the end of the season these teams will both be below .500. Amazing that people are willing to pay a minimum of $100 to watch this in person. Honestly, these programs should be paying fans to come to the game. Probably just take the points and the +145 number and Pokes cover and even win UW 17 CSU 16. There just is not any difference between these programs right now.

I don't think anyone really knows how good CSU will be this year. They have 70+ new players and a new coach.
But even if CSU is a bad team, I suspect we are worse. We really did nothing to sure up our two biggest deficiencies in the last couple years: O-Line and WR. And, of course, we have Sawvel running things again despite the fact he has shown himself to be an awful college football head coach these past two seasons.
This season really just feels like we are going through the motions until the new President can drop the hammer and start cleaning house so that a rebuild can begin. At least I'm hoping the new President is ready and willing to do that. If not, then I'm not sure why we are even playing competitive collegiate athletics at this point.
