If Burman has any cajones, he will come out in the next week and announce we aren't playing Texas Tech in any sport and will cancel all contests again any Tech team.
Burman/cajones is an oxymoron. If Burman has any cajones, he will come out in the next week and announce we aren't playing Texas Tech in any sport and will cancel all contests again any Tech team.
LMAO if you seriously think Burman would do soIf Burman has any cajones, he will come out in the next week and announce we aren't playing Texas Tech in any sport and will cancel all contests again any Tech team.

If Texas Tech offered to put Wyoming on the 2029 schedule in Lubbock by paying off the contract for the CSU game in Laramie that would be his big announcement proclaiming a financial windfall by eliminating a 7th home game.If Burman has any cajones, he will come out in the next week and announce we aren't playing Texas Tech in any sport and will cancel all contests again any Tech team.
I wouldn’t suggest that.If Burman has any cajones, he will come out in the next week and announce we aren't playing Texas Tech in any sport and will cancel all contests again any Tech team.
They WERE going to pay him, but I'm guessing he's entering the draft because they told him they were done covering for him in this debacle.Looks like Sorsby and Texas Tech decided to end things now before things get ugly for Tech. He's going to apply for the NFL's Supplemental Draft. TT was going to pay him something like $5 million this coming season.
That was my guess as well. They WERE going to pay him, but I'm guessing he's entering the draft because they told him they were done covering for him in this debacle.
No way any NFL team is going to want to deal a mid QB prospect with a gambling history. That was my guess as well.
I honestly doubt any NFL teams will even select him.
Texas Tech is on the record saying they will not attempt to collect any of the NIL money they paid Sorsby. They WERE going to pay him, but I'm guessing he's entering the draft because they told him they were done covering for him in this debacle.
This was always the sensible solution IMO. That $4-5 million hit to Texas Tech is magnitudes lower than the damage they would have endured had they played him.Texas Tech is on the record saying they will not attempt to collect any of the NIL money they paid Sorsby.
From my understanding, it was a fully guaranteed NIL deal with the only requirement that he sign with them. So he should walk away $4-5 million dollars richer.
It is a sensible solution to a PR nightmare for Tech. I still am disgusted that Sorsby will walk away with the cash despite his gambling in violation of the rules. I suppose his draft status with the NFL took a big hit but when I look at the NFL the league tends to be very forgiving of criminal activities if you can play at a high level. This was always the sensible solution IMO. That $4-5 million hit to Texas Tech is magnitudes lower than the damage they would have endured had they played him.
This is pocket change for Cody Campbell. And, Sorsby is set for life (at least until he gambles it away).
Don't kid yourself. An NFL team will select him, there will be a team looking for QB depth and will take the chance. That was my guess as well.
I honestly doubt any NFL teams will even select him.

Indianapolis, Cleveland, and the NY Jets are the only ones I could see pulling the trigger. Even with them they wouldn't spend more than a 6th round pick in the supplemental draft to take a flyer on him.The only team I could see picking him is Las Vegas.
