Rioux ended up at UC Irvine. Don't know their NIL situation, but I doubt it's much better than UW's.The tallest player to ever play the game is going to get PAID. No way in hell he lands in Laramie.

UCI has an NIL advantage since they're non football so it all goes to hoops, but even then I don't think that was the influence. They've had really tall players before namely Mamadou Ndiaye at 7'6" and they turned him into a 2x Big West defender of the year. I wouldn't be shocked if that's what led Rioux to his decision especially since it's still the same coach.Rioux ended up at UC Irvine. I live in Irvine and I think you've nailed it. He's developed such players before.UCI has an NIL advantage since they're non football so it all goes to hoops, but even then I don't think that was the influence. It'll be a solid depth add at the very least for UCI especially in this new Big West that, granted, is pretty similar to the old one, but is still wide open for the eaters to become the powerhouse of. I also wonder if volleyball can become a true national juggernaut like UCLA now that Hawai'i is on the way out, though I'm not sure what MVB affiliate status would be for them. Granted that's also bleeding outside the topic of this thread but hey I like VB lmaoI live in Irvine and I think you've nailed it. He's developed such players before.
